How to Find Bras for Small Breasts

Intentional or not, media -which include manufacturer advertising-- has portrayed that bigger breasts are more desirable than small or medium ones so women's preference for large breasts is quite commonplace. True or not, women with rather small breasts want to make them look bigger, if not actually larger, to conform to this 'ideal'. That is one reason bras for small breasts are popular. Where there is a need, there is a market for products, already made or not.

So what are the best bras for small breasts? Many women will automatically reply, 'push up bras', or maybe 'padded bras'. Both answers are often correct, but there are also bras made particularly for small breasts and not just minimized versions of the popular sizes. The latter bras do not consider the possible wearer's physique and other physical configurations, so that wearing that inappropriate bra often results in discomfort.

Hence the best bras for small breasts are those that fit the wearer as a bra should.

The problem is, like the others, in finding those bras.

To do that you need to take several steps. First is, have yourself measured. About 85% of women is said to use the wrong-size bra, mostly unintentionally because they did not know their sizes. So to get the correct bra for small breasts you must know your measurements.

Next, decide on what you want. Is it a push up bra? Push-inward? What padding: air, water, foam, gel? Or do you want a simple, no-frills bra that is nice and comfortable to wear all day? By knowing what you want you can narrow your search for your bra to only a few styles and brands, instead of looking over all available bras.

Check the designs you decided on, to imagine how they may fit you. Searching online is the quickest and simplest way, where you can see the pictures of bras for small breasts and their descriptions. Doing so will further narrow your search parameters and ease your efforts, as well as give you a glimpse of the possibilities bras for small breasts can give in terms of looks.

Understand the right way to put on a bra. Slip the bra on without hooking it, bend forward so your breasts hang down, and put your breasts into the cups, moving the bra as needed. Without straightening, close the clasp at the back, then straighten and adjust the band. It should be about midway between your elbows and shoulders and horizontal. You must be able to insert into the band only a finger or two, but the band should feel only snug, not tight.

Finally, go to the stores and test fit their available bras for small breasts in the designs you want. You must be comfortable wearing it even for a short time, since if not, it will be less comfortable in the longer run. Be sure to get the bras that flatter your breasts and physique, like the balconette design, and with just slight padding, since to make your breasts look two sizes bigger will be preposterous.

What Fun Is a Clothing Budget?

Maybe "fun" isn't quite the right word to describe budgeting for clothing, but it can definitely be rewarding, and make you feel proud of yourself for keeping your purchases to a predetermined, reasonable amount. So, in a way, it's kind of fun.

I have had a budget for about 20 years, and when I took a break for a few years, I gradually started spending too much, and realized that I felt guilty no matter how much or how little I bought! When I started budgeting again, I saw the benefit of keeping track of what I was buying, which made me feel much more in control.

Use a Spreadsheet

My husband and I started a household budget when we were first married, and we used Microsoft Excel, but there are other spreadsheet and budgeting products. Even paper and pen will work, just use what you like.

Save Receipts

I save receipts for everything that I am budgeting for--clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. I don't include beauty products or appointments, because they aren't as difficult for me to control. Create categories as you see fit. Keep receipts from these categories in your wallet, or designate a basket or bowl in a prominent place at home, which works well if you are budgeting as a couple for your household. This helps to have them handy for returns as well. If you do return something, make sure you credit your spreadsheet.

Record Purchases Once a Week

Choose a time, for example, Sunday evenings, and sit down, gather your receipts, and record the purchases onto your spreadsheet. This will give you your current balance. If you do this, you will always have a number in your head that's available to spend.

Set a Monthly Budget Amount

This is the hard part, and it's different for everyone. Obviously, you need to be able to afford it, but beyond that, try to come up with what you would like to be spending. You can make it quarterly or weekly amounts if you'd like, but monthly seems the right timing for me.

Keeping my clothing purchases within a budget has helped me to shop more intelligently. I shop at a variety of stores, such as Target, Nordstrom Rack, and consignment, as well as traditional clothing stores. Budgeting also helps me make better use of the clothes I have in my closet, by wearing them more often, but mixing them in different ways. I am more careful with what I buy, making sure it is the right fit and color, and that I really love it. It has helped me to be aware of major store's sales and keeping some money available for those sales.

Using a budget allows you to save up for large purchases you otherwise would think are too expensive or you would feel guilty about. As you purchase items, be very sure you want to keep them and wear them. This can take some time and trial and error, so always save receipts and invest the time to return items that you decide you don't like. Also, if something is in good condition, and can't be returned, sell it at a consignment shop and use that money for new clothes.

By putting a little regular time and effort into it, you can control your clothing spending, and feel good about yourself and your wardrobe. Have fun with it!

Do Women Deny Their Age or Compete With Daughters?

The following comment was made in response to one of my articles about "mid-life "mean girls" behavior"

Great advice! As one who is in her forties I avoid the middle-aged gripe club and referencing my age all time. But I have a question. Maybe the answer is in your e-book, but what do you say to people who claim that doing what you prescribe is denying their age? And what do you think about women who say having a youthful vibe, particularly in dress is "trying to compete with your daughter?"

Let's agree on this: It's stupid to deny your age or that you are aging.

Let's also agree on this: While it's stupid to deny your age or that you are aging, it's smart to engage in deliberate defiance of the vicissitudes of aging. That said, it's not easy to make the effort to fight decline because our human nature prefers ease over effort and the leisure oriented senior culture mindset and lifestyle compound the issue.

When "up there" in years, little is worse than being dependent, particularly if dependence results from failure to engage in positive acts of defiance early on. An example of a positive act of defiance is starting an exercise routine while you still have the strength and capacity to bend and stretch, and sticking with it year in and year out. Continuity of effort produces amazing results needed most in the older years.

As for the charge of "trying to compete with your daughter" - let's face it - many older women DO look as good as their daughters, and can wear their daughters' clothes and look great in them, but I don't think women consciously or deliberately try to compete with their daughters.

When a woman makes a negative comment about another woman's appearance or clothing choices, it may be envy. Or, maybe not. Perhaps it's an honest opinion that something "on trend" for a young woman looks silly on an older woman. For example, older women wearing dresses that seem to be made of barely (no pun intended) a yard of fabric. Upon seeing such sights I am often tempted to utter a childhood expression applicable for confused fashionistas:

"I see London, I see France, I can see your underpants". (And sometimes, even more!)

Perhaps you are not old enough to have heard that expression but as a first grade six year old (waaaay back when) I heard it a lot. A cute classmate's parents owned a clothing shop for young children and Jacqueline always looked picture perfect in her short short flouncy Shirley Temple dresses, a sight that motivated gleeful little boys to let her know they could see her picture perfect lace-trimmed underwear. Never seen a Shirley Temple dress? If you have watched teen idol Selena Gomez energetically bounce up and down around the stage in her short short flouncy dress (to the delight of panting pre-pubescent boys), you have the picture.

I digress. If you are making an effort to hang on to as many youthful attributes as possible, good for you! Do what it takes to keep and improve what you have now. Don't allow disparaging remarks from envious or misguided women about denying your age or competing with your daughter deter you from achieving your goal of healthy, independent, DEFIANT agelessness.

What Can a Magic Push Up Bra Do for You?

If you are a woman who wears a bra, you've probably heard about push up bras. They are the bras that push the breasts up and inwards to create a better cleavage for you primarily, and make your breasts look larger secondarily. Hence, the name 'push up bra'. Both ends are achieved by adding padding to the bra cup in the form of fabric, foam, plasticine gel, water and in some designs, air. Some paddings are removable; others are sewn in.

You may not know it ---most probably you do, having heard about it one time or another--- but there is something else called 'magic push up bra'. This is a bra with a unique design: you can adjust, within a range, how big your breast would be by pulling on some laces. Pull on the laces a little and the bra's cups will push your breasts just a bit tighter; pull a little more and you will have a more pronounced cleavage. It's clearly magical, hence the name.

The beauty of the thing here is that a magic push up bra can instantly transform the wearer's bra cup into something one size larger, which is admittedly a great ego booster for women with rather smallish breasts. After all, every feminine person wants to look curvaceous and sexy, and an appropriate breast shape helps tremendously in fulfilling this desire. Like it or not, society made the breast as one of the hallmarks of being sexy and desirable, so that anything, such as a magic bra, that helps a woman excel in this area will be very welcome to her.

Not that big-breasted women cannot use a magic push up bra. There are large breasts that sag, droop or otherwise do not look very good according to contemporary society's standards. Using this bra can correct the undesirable appearance, making the breast perkier and more correct in form. Furthermore, having uplifted breasts will reveal the waist, giving the person a more shapely silhouette. In short, using a magic bra will give only benefits to the wearer, outweighing very few disadvantages.

As a result of all these, the bra wearer attains greater self-confidence from a more feminine look and feeling, whether she is small breasted, large breasted, or between. This may be reflected in the way the person walks or stands -straighter back, clearly seen waistline, better poise. And because the bra subtly pulls back the shoulder, the wearer attains this posture unconsciously, which is more natural.

Finally, a magic push up bra helps avoid the final solution, surgery, in correcting 'flaws' in the figure, although surgical procedure is an option open only to those who have enough vanity and money to go through with it. For lesser mortals like most of us, a magic bra would be the real final solution.

If you want to find the alluring, sophisticated and effective bra for your size, visit www.orlinas.com for a look-see of what they have to offer. It is highly probable they have what you want.

What Is The Best Bra?

According to reports, about 85% of women in American wear the wrong bra. Probably, mainly because to find the best bra for you, you need to test-fit many bras to get the correct one that fits you, that you like in terms of feel, you look sexy in, and you are terribly confident you are wearing the right one. But because your body might change every now and then and your breasts unilaterally alter themselves once a month, you would theoretically be wearing the wrong bra some days a month at least.

To complicate things some more, there is diet, pregnancy, breastfeeding, exercise and age that alters the breasts' configurations. It is like the proverbial work of trying to find a needle in a haystack at night while blindfolded. It can be that complicated and long-haul because you should persevere trying on as many bras as you can in as many sources as you can get them. The catch here is that once you find the right bra, you might need to change it, at least in size, after a semester or so, as advised by professionals, due to the factors mentioned above.

Still, to cut a long-winded list of considerations shorter, you can ask the question directly: 'What is the best bra?' The answer is: no specific bra is the best. Not the branded bras, nor the unknown ones. Not the newfangled designs, nor the ancient styles. It depends on the shape of the breasts, the physique of the wearer, the purpose of the bra, the occasion or event it will worn in, the color it comes and the preferences of the wearer. Quite a complex set of factors.

There are two primary considerations, however, that must be present in the best bra: it must be perfect fit, and it must be the correct one for the occasion.

The best bra for you should make you look sexier and slimmer, and uplift your assets in several ways. It should help project your best look, because the bra is not only about the breast, but also about confidence, comfort, shape and poise. If you feel good about your bra you'd feel good all over, and that should show in the way you walk, stand, sit and interact with people. You would feel that everything is right with the world.

To find the best bra, first you must get measured and fitted, preferably by a professional. Self-guessing will not enable you to explore the widest spectrum of choices, or at least not as fast. Try on all kinds of bra of your size, dipping and tucking yourself in, to determine which is most comfortable for you. Once you find your bra of preference, try it in other configurations: push up, balconette, deep-V, tee-shirt and so on. Think of the social occasions you would need one and find your bra for that event.

Remember that the best bra is not only the one you look good in; it must be the one you feel most comfortable and most confident in.

Secrets To Longer And Sexier Legs Instantly

Have you ever looked at long-legged models and yearn to have those endless lean legs? You are not alone. All women want to have long and sexy legs.

However, nature has not treated all women equally in this department. Some lucky ones have legs up to their armpits while some have shorter ones. If you belong in the latter group and cannot grow an inch taller, at least you can give the illusion that you have the legs of a gazelle. A little bit of know-how goes a long way in the fashion stakes. Please read on for the secrets to longer and sexier legs in an instant.

High heels

The most obvious way to instantly lengthen your legs is of course to wear high heels. When you wear high heeled shoes, not only do you increase your height but you also increase your sex kitten score too. High heels make you arch your back, stick out your bottom and give your leg muscles more definition, all at the same time. So you see, your legs can be long and sexy too!

Pointed toe

In order to make your legs carry on even further, pick shoes with a pointed toe. Pointed toes, especially if chosen a little bit longer than the actual foot itself, will give the illusion of a longer foot and longer leg.

Colour Matters

matching the colour of your shoes to your legs will give the illusion that your legs are longer as there is no interruption in colour. Wear nude heels with nude legs or black shoes with black tights. For a more enhanced effect, match in the colour of your skirt or dress as well i.e black skirt/black tights/black shoes.

Trousers

Bootcut and straight cut trousers will give you a lean silhouette. High heels will add a few extra inches too. Choose trousers or jeans in a long length so that your heels are hidden by the hem. Here you go, long legs in a jiffy.

Tuck In

Another way to lengthen your legs is a pair of high-waisted trousers or jeans. Make sure that you tuck your top inside the waist of your trousers. As the waistline will be higher, your torso will appear shorter in comparison. This effect will give the illusion that your legs go on forever. Hey presto.

Belted Dress

You can achieve the effect of a higher waist, as above, with a dress. Choose a dress that stops just above the knee and cinch your waist with a belt in a contrasting colour. As long as the belt sits higher than your natural waist, this will give you legs to die for. Do not forget the high heels of course.

Now you too can enjoy longer, sexier legs in an instant with these quick and easy tips.

Time to Change the Conversation About Body Image

The fashion world appears to have come to the decision that being healthy is in. However, calls to action against unrealistic depictions of models and celebrities in fashion publications and other media have yielded few results. Publishing a few articles, about the deadliness of eating disorders, will not thwart dangerous habits. This is because the crux of the problem lies with flawed mentalities that have spanned generations. The body image discussion needs to be steered toward changing fundamental attitudes. As long as people are identified by the size of their bodies, this issue will never go away.

Currently, it is second nature to casually make a comment about a person's weight. Terms such as "fat" and "skinny" are thrown around with no regard to what they actually mean. For instance, "Do you know Darcy? No? Dark hair? A bit on the chubby side?" is a perfectly acceptable way to begin a conversation about a woman. This creates divisions among women and places them in competition against one another. Then, as a defense mechanism, they will make snide remarks about others who do not look like them. It is a never-ending toxic cycle that has been going on for decades. Men also have issues with body image but women are 10 times more likely than men to have an eating disorder.

"Big is beautiful" or "Curves are sexy" are some of the popular taglines used in conjunction with initiatives to improve self-image. But while these campaigns mean well, they are not the solution. They will only lead to a new mentality where skinny women are the enemy. Criticizing thinner women will only cause more strife. Some women will not gain an ounce no matter how much they eat while others cannot lose weight even if they starve themselves. Instead of endorsing a certain body type, such campaigns should promote healthy eating and exercise. The message should be that all body types are beautiful.

Those positive messages would be a start. However, change will only occur if, as stated earlier, comments about body weight are not casually strewn about in conversation. Calling someone a "fat cow" or saying "she needs to eat a hamburger" are phrases that are all too common. This is a form of bullying and should not be done - even in jest. Furthermore, descriptive profanity words should never be tolerated. There is no need to call someone a skinny b---- or a fat a--. Words are powerful and they resonate with people.

The fashion industry has influence over television, movies, magazine, music etc. Therefore, it has the ability to revolutionize the way our society views beauty. Earlier this year, Vogue announced that 19 editors have formed a pact to not work with models "who appear to have an eating disorder". They will also not feature models under 16 years of age. That is a small step toward the right direction but it is not enough. Other measures need to be made to ensure that change will happen. Fashion designers should stop making sample sizes of prom dresses and other special events smaller because doing so pressures models to become thinner. They need to stop thinking of models as mere hangers for their designs. Fashion magazines should stop airbrushing models and celebrities to make them look doll-like. With increasing technology, this practice has become a regular occurrence even though it is blatantly obvious. Cover stars are sometimes missing a hip or a shoulder because someone was overly eager with the mouse. Maybe magazine editors do not care if the airbrushing is apparent because it is expected. However, these fake images have a negative impact on women. Although many know that the images are false representations of a real woman, the subsequent comparison is instinctual and unavoidable. The American Medical Association said as much when it asked advertisers to curb body enhancing practices because they help cause "mental and eating disorders".

Women begin comparing themselves to others at a young age. It starts with the dolls they play with at a young age. Typically, dolls have an hourglass figure with a tiny waist and disproportionately large breasts. After that, young girls are continually exposed to the aforementioned false images of women. Meanwhile, their appearances are constantly being judged by their peers. Children need to be taught at a young age that they should not judge or refer to others by their size. There is hope for the future since younger generations are being proactive about this issue. Recently, 14-year-old Julia Bluhm's online campaign and demonstrations pushed Seventeen magazine to form the Body Peace Treaty. This treaty states that the magazine will never change body shapes or faces and will only feature healthy models. This is just one instance where young people are rising to fight against the unreasonable expectations set forth by society. Whether it be the style of designer dresses worn by celebrities on the red carpet, or the unhealthy habits often considered the norm in our culture -- it is easy for teens and adolescents to get the wrong idea about body, self-image, and confidence.

Altering the zeitgeist of a society will be a battle. But it is not impossible. Imagine a world where a person's body size does not enter the conversation. Where women are not trying the latest master cleanse or miracle diet pill to lose weight. A world where they feel comfortable in their own bodies because people are not making snide remarks about them. There is no preference for a certain body type in that world so young girls will not have distorted views on body image. The fashion world continually launches new trends and stirs established conventions. It has the authority to make this dream world a reality.
