Face Lightening Cream, Let's Face It

Today, the world over, markets are flooded with creams for every body part. Also, creams come in a huge variety like some for moisturizing, some for cleansing, and some for glow. Another type of cream that is very popular among women is face lightening cream. This cream is usually high in demand because of, only one reason that usually such creams fulfill a lot of other purposes like that of an anti-ageing cream, anti-wrinkle cram, under eye cream, de-tan cream, face bleaching, fairness cream and so on. Women these days don't seem to have a lot of time on their hands to take very good care of their face and skin. It is next to impossible to be able to use all the above mentioned creams on a regular basis or for a specified duration. Hence cosmetic manufacturers came up with this idea to take the best from all such creams and make an all-in-one cream that caters to these needs. Face lightening cream fits all criteria perfectly. They have a pleasant scent, revitalize and restore skin functions, improve the cell growth and also limit sebum secretion acting like an obstacle for the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The main job of a face lotion is to smoothen, soften, and re-hydrate the skin. It rejuvenates the skin making you feel fresher and younger. Some lotions also contain fragrances. One important aspect that we should keep in mind before buying any product that has to be used on the skin is that it is a properly and dermatological tested product. Skin is the largest organ and is generally sensitive. A good face lotion is one that cleanses your skin deeply, does not clog pores and at the same time nourishes the skin, giving natural protection to the skin. Women have become really conscious about the way they look and they way they present themselves. They are not just limited to the household anymore and have started working. Long working hours, increasing stress levels, and pressure of work load makes our flower like soft skin, welt. Also, with such a hectic life, it's difficult to manage to go to the parlor for facial massages and other ways to pamper your skin. Face lotions make your life a little easy in this context because now you can pamper your skin without having to run to the parlor. Its quick and you can use them whenever and wherever you want.

Another treat for your skin is a good face wash. Dirt and impurities have a tendency to penetrate deep into your skin. Women prefer using a face wash that can remove make-up, oil, dead skin, dirt and other kinds of pollutants, prevent skin conditions like acne and clogging of pores. These are some of the major complaints that women and girls have. It is recommended to wash your face at least twice a day accompanied with a toner or moisturizer or both. Face wash comes in a mind boggling variety to choose from, depending on your skin type. Those with acne prone skin or sensitive skin prefer using one that has components like tea tree oil, turmeric, aloe vera etc whereas those who have dry or dehydrated skin opt for one that is creamy, moisturizer-type cleanser. Face washes that contain lemon extract are good for those who have an oily skin. There are numerous other face washes for fairer and more glowing skin.

However, some face washes may rub your skin the wrong way and incite allergic responses such as rashes, itching, redness and patchy skin. People who have such sensitive skin should look for a facial cleanser for sensitive skin that has a balanced level of pH, less irritants and keeps the skin soft and moisturized even after washing or cleansing. It is very important to pick the right kind of face wash for your skin. The face is the most important part of your look and thus you must not take any risks or experiments with it. Mostly, people are born with sensitive skin. On the other hand, some develop a kind of sensitivity over the years, after some accident or after a surgery. Sensitive skin requires more care and attention and so the concept of a facial cleanser for sensitive skin came into being. These cleansers are not harsh on the skin, are skin friendly and have no harmful side affects, whatsoever. Even with all these factors, they still perform the primary job of a cleanser excellently, that is cleaning your face and making you feel comfortable in your skin.

Breastfeeding Myths And The Reality

Myth number one is the supposed fact that not a lot of women breastfeed and in fact it's a bit weird when a mother chooses to do so. This is completely wrong, as around seventy eight per cent of women say they breastfeed in the UK alone. When women say that breastfeeding is uncommon they usually mean their mother didn't do it and they won't be doing so as a result. Women who use this excuse are usually afraid of what breastfeeding might do to their appearance.

The second big myth around breastfeeding is that it will make breasts sag. There's no proof that breastfeeding does make breasts sag, but there are two huge factors which are the actual culprits of sagging breasts. Aging is one reason that many women's breasts sag, as the tissues stretch due to being a certain age. Gaining weight can also result in breasts sagging, as the body distributes weight over different areas, and the breasts are one point where a lot of excess weight can be stored.

The third well-known myth about breastfeeding is that formula is basically the same as breast milk. Nothing is as good for babies as breast milk, as it contains living bacteria produced by the mother which help builds a strong and healthy immune system. Formula is packed full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, but still doesn't hold a torch to the benefits of breast milk. For mothers who don't believe there is a difference, it has been proven that babies who were given formula have a noticeably weaker immunity to diseases and illnesses when they're older.

The fourth common myth about breastfeeding is that women breastfeeding in public is something people don't like to see. Surveys have shown most people don't really mind women breastfeeding in public, as it's a natural process and necessary for the life of a child. Today there are many products which make breastfeeding much more discreet such as ponchos, so there's really nothing anyone can say about it making them uncomfortable as they can't see it.

The fifth myth over breastfeeding is that to some women it isn't possible or they can't produce enough milk and so should resort to formula. Like with anything in life, the body needs time to adapt to having to create so much breast milk every day, and for a couple of weeks it might seem as though a mother can't produce enough, but every mother has the ability to adapt to what her child needs, with the only exceptions being due to infections.

The final common myth associated with breastfeeding is that women can't have a sex life if they do breastfeed. For some women it may be a year until they feel comfortable with having sex with their partner again, but this is due to a number of other reasons, not breastfeeding. When having sex women produce the same hormone as they do when breastfeeding, oxytocin. As a result they might produce a little breast milk during sex, but a couple who are bonded enough to have a baby together shouldn't find this a problem at all.

Survival of the Fittest or Survival of the Best Mothers?

Not long ago, I was discussing the challenges with the "survival of the fittest" theory when it came to evolution. You see, evolutionary theory is broken into several categories and survival of the fittest is a component of all that. It basically states that those members of the species which are the most fit live long enough to procreate, and the others just get eaten or die prior to that point, thus their genes do not survive into the future. That's a pretty easy concept to comprehend and it makes logical sense. Okay so, let's talk shall we?

Now then, it may very well be that the strongest warriors went out in battle to fight, and fighting is a problem because people get hurt and killed, therefore many of the strongest end up perishing. Remember will, bravery, strength, and intelligence are only part of the necessary attributes to survive in battle, another is luck. So, just because you are one with all those fighting skills, well that doesn't mean you are guaranteed to survive any given battle, much less many on end forever, well until your time is up.

Meanwhile if you are busy fighting battles you are not back in the village bedding down with all the women left behind who need serving. Thus, weaker genes get passed on as well, actually in that scenario, more often right? Sure you can see that point too, which also makes perfect sense as you reason this line of thinking. If the weaker men are left in the village they pass on their genes more, until of course that village is raided by other marauders and they are besieged and eliminated.

Yes, being a human in past periods was indeed a real problem, or very challenging. The women may have been raped and killed, but the strongest probably survived and gave birth to offspring, thus, in many regards it's not about the survival of the fittest men, but survival of the fittest woman. Indeed, as a man this makes me smile, even if it is a hard-hit to the ego. Still, the woman who reasoned all this and presented it to me as a point of contention did make some interesting points right?

So, maybe when it comes to this particular component of the "survival of the fittest" perhaps we might consider this and think about it on a deeper level is all that I am saying here today. So, do with this information what you will and if you'd like to pick up where these questions leave off, shoot me an email at your earliest convenience.

Why Women Suffer Discrimination

It is a horrible thing to be passed over because of one's sexuality. Women in all walks of life throughout the world are discriminated against and the pain, in some cases, is almost unbearable. It might not be visible pain as depression and psychiatric problems are largely the outcome. So the question is why is it the case that male dominated organisations and industries avoid female participation and equality?

Religions are mostly to blame and where there is a large religious footprint over a society the discrimination appears to be worse. The areas at the top of the list would be those under the influence of Islam, Hindu and Christianity. In the first two areas the likelihood of death for sexual perversion hangs over them. Meanwhile the women of the west who think they have freedom may be surprised to know that there are many ways they are subjected to male domination and sexual abuse.

The so-called glass ceiling stops women in their tracks in many businesses where they would obviously be the better choice for the top job. Schools are also prone to discriminate and girls may receive a different form of education than their male peers. They also have to achieve higher marks to try out for the same type of work.

Discrimination also involves the way women are expected to dress and decorate themselves. Make-up, for instance, is just that and yet without it a woman is deemed unattractive if she has things on her face to cover up. This has created a profitable industry in itself. Painting one's eyes, lips and skin also has health hazards attached. Itchy eyes and dry cracked skin is often the result.

Watching women walking in high heels is another issue. The feet are so out of alignment with the spine at every step that one sees the trouble looming of bad backs and spinal related injuries, such as a slipped disc or two. While they cannot be that comfortable to wear they are in much the same boat as the short skirt that often allows a woman's underwear to be seen, especially on elevators and when she sits down.

The contradiction here is that women are not appreciated for their intelligence but only for the sexual pleasures they give to men. One must ask, therefore, where the thinking behind these things is derived.

The Hindu and Muslim women hide their bodies in large robes and often shield their face from view by strangers. That protects them from some abuse that could lead to their being blamed for the sexual acts of the men who would rape or murder them.

In all societies the behaviour and discrimination against women is fear dominated. Women fear not being wanted and are put down because of their threat to male power. Men fear women who may outsmart and outperform their efforts so they start early to undermine them. Humans are the same over and the power of the male ego to percolate always to the top is what women have to fight and or avoid.

You Pick Up That Facial Cleanser, Read The Products Label

At the end of each day, when your face is rife with pollutants of all kinds, it's best to clean up with a reliable facial cleanser. But with a vast range of facial cleansers in cosmetics shops, how can you know which one to go with?

One way of finding out is to read the product label which comprises all the ingredients that go to make up the product that you're holding in your hand. If you read the following names, you've got a really good product:

Glycolic Acid: A natural derivative of sugar cane, this is part of the class of ingredients known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids or AHA. Glycolic Acid is a natural exfoliator. It removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells that lie on the skin surface and make room for fresh skin to reach the surface. If you are looking for anti-aging benefits through Glycolic Acid, you can be sure of this. It also contributes to discoloring the skin of damage such as sun spots. You can find Glycolic Acid in different kinds of cleansers such as moisturizers, eye creams, serums and face peels.

Coenzyme Q10: This ingredient is known for its ability to reverse the signs of aging by fighting free radicals and reducing the extent of their skin cell havoc. By choosing this ingredient in your face cleanser, you give yourself the chance to reverse aging signs, present clean and tight skin and improve your skin's look. It also helps expedite cell repair and produces enough energy to grow and maintain skin cells. It is also an effective ingredient of face cleansers because it penetrates seven layers of skin to tone them, freshen them up, smoothen them out and keep them damage-free.

Coenzyme Q10 also stimulates blood circulation and works as an antioxidant. Each time we are exposed to the sun, it is eliminated from our skin surface and replaced by environmental pollution. So, it's necessary to replenish the skin with this wonderful ingredient every day.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8: This ingredient of face cleansers is unique for being an amino-peptide developed clinically to lower the amount of facial wrinkles and diminish the premature signs of aging. Just like its cousin Acetyl Hexapeptide 3, it is economical, a good alternative to injections and surgical procedures and temporarily restrains an overproduction of neurotransmitters that control the depth of facial muscle contractions.

This action restricts the development of wrinkles that give one a prematurely old look. When used along with Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 and 30, Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 lowers the number of wrinkles and age lines.

When this ingredient is made part of face creams or wrinkle creams, you get immediate results in terms of reduced wrinkles because Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 penetrates the skin immediately and gets down to the work of relaxing the facial muscles. This results in facial wrinkles and fine lines being immediately reduced.

Other ingredients to look out for are:
Kaolin: It absorbs oil and pulls out dirt from the skin.
Active Manuka Honey: It is rich in antioxidants and encourages the immune system to withstand diseases.
Macadamia Oil: It is absorbed into the skin easily and protects skin cells from premature aging

Shea Butter: It is a natural moisturizer.

Ingredients in face cleansers to avoid: Just as there are ingredients in cleansers that you should look out for, there are harmful ones too that you should avoid. Some of them are:

Parabens: This ingredient is used as a preservative in all cosmetics. It comprises Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Methyl and Parahydroxybenzoate. Good facial cleansers will not use Parabens as they are known to lead to breast cancer and cause harm to the male reproductive system. They also cause skin rash and allergic reactions in users of these products. Parabens are used in face and body moisturizers, cleansers and body washes.

Pthalates: This group of ingredients is also known to lead to cancer and several kinds of health problems in regular users of products that include them.

Fragrances: Fragrances that are used in face creams or cleansers are artificial and made of either coal or petroleum or coal which are bio-degradable and lead to skin irritations. They are made with cheap synthetic substances with similar fragrance of products that are already in existence.

Other ingredients to avoid: These include triclosan, mineral oil, dioxane, petrolatum and nitrosamines, apart from any other alcohol-based product which cause skin irritation. If the product label you're looking at has any of these ingredients, drop it and move on to something else.

Enjoy The Goodness Of Mineral Makeup And Delay The Signs Of Aging For Another Decade

As we grow older and begin to lose our natural coloring, our skin tone turns dull and our skin loses its natural elasticity and stretches, we feel the need for some extra help which will give us a semblance of our youthful looks. How did so many changes come about in our faces suddenly? How come we didn't find these changes when we look at ourselves in the mirror every day?

That's when we need to conceal all our facial flaws with makeup. But this makeup should really be different as it should address all the problems we've just discovered about ourselves. Aging skin can receive the necessary kind of help in the shape of mineral makeup, which has been used for centuries by the Egyptians and other civilizations.
How mineral makeup helps aging skin: When women begin to age, their skin undergoes several kinds of changes. For one, the skin begins to lose its natural elasticity and collagen, the proteins inside the skin that works on enhancing and tightening the skin are no longer produced as much as in one's youth.

As a result, the skin loses its firmness and begins to sag. The skin also cannot recover as well as before in terms of skin damage and scarring. However, what the skin cannot do externally, we can do internally: so, women can improve the condition of their skin by eating a diet rich in Vitamins A, C and E and so reverse the obvious signs of aging.

Benefits:
• It is natural makeup which is devoid of any chemicals, or talc, preservatives and dyes, thereby negating the chance of contracting any skin irritation.
• It also helps reverse the signs of aging.
• It helps conceal all your fine lines, scars and age marks by providing lighter coverage and an even skin tone.
• It doesn't damage the skin surface or cause any irritation or cause any dryness or oiliness.
• It suits all complexions.
• It also contains SPF, which protects your skin from UVB and UVA rays.

Ingredients: Mineral makeup comprises natural ingredients taken from the earth, such as:
• Titanium dioxide: It provides enough opacity and coverage to hide blemishes and protects the skin against UV radiation.
• Bismuth oxychloride: This gives a pearly sheen to cosmetics and is therefore preferred by cosmeticians.
• Zinc oxide: This helps to hide skin blemishes and acts as a natural sunscreen that keeps UV rays away from you.
• Mica: Mica helps reduce the number of wrinkles on your face.
• Iron oxides: This is available in a large selection of colors and is used for colorization in mineral makeup.

3 top ingredients to look out for: These are standard ingredients of mineral makeup products, but there are some superior products available in the market that go one step further than this to include three stellar ingredients that do an amazing job of reversing the clock on mature skin to leave it fresh, light, glowing, blemish-free, smooth and even-toned. These three ingredients are:

Green tea extracts: Green tea extracts consist of antioxidants or polyphenols that play a very important role in preventing skin from aging and improving its condition. It reduces skin inflammation, prevents wrinkles from forming and diminishes those present, protects the skin against any future collagen breakdown and keeps the skin looking and feeling smooth.
Green tea extracts are also 100% natural and you can soon see the visible signs of aging reducing. Lastly, it is gentle enough to be used on all skin types.

Vitamin A: This natural ingredient heals flawed skin and strengthens it against the ravages of time. It also prevents any wrinkle formation, protects the sun from damaging UV rays, brings a unique radiance to the face and keeps one looking younger for much longer. Also known as Retinol, Vitamin A is a natural antioxidant and, in this capacity, helps increase the skin cells' production which, in turn, helps repair the skin cells damaged by UV rays. It also gives you a smoother and even-toned complexion without fine lines or wrinkles.

Vitamin E: Another important antioxidant, Vitamin E protects the skin cells from free radicals' damage. It also protects the skin from UV rays' exposure, age spots and sun damage. To reduce the signs of aging and prevent wrinkle formation, Vitamins C and E should be taken together orally or in a cream which has the goodness of Vitamin A, also in combination with green tea extracts and other reputed mineral makeup components. In a study published in Journal of Dermatology Treatment, it was found that when Vitamin E was applied on the skin, it improved by 39%.

Get A Perfect Tan The Right Way

Beauty is something that may be skin deep, but there are still a number of people who are always on an endless quest to achieve it. There are so many different people in the world, and each has his or her own definition of beauty. A lot of people use different fairness creams and pimple removers and the like because they feel that perfect and fair skin is the root of beauty. Then there are others who believe that dusky, tanned skin is perfect for them, and such people patiently bathe in the sun for a few hours every day for days on end to get the desired effect.

Whatever the options used, there are a lot of sites these days that offer comprehensive beauty solutions, right from creams to tanning. There are a number of companies that provide alternative solutions to the ones commonly available in the market. For example, a lot of fairness and beauty creams contain products that are derived from animals. Like, stearic acid, that is obtained from animal fat, lactic acid that is got from animal milk, lanolin that is derived from sheep's wool and glycerin that is obtained from collagen are just a few examples.

Though a lot of people do not have a problem with using products that contain such ingredients, there are an increasing number of people who are turning vegan, a trend which has been epitomized by the likes of talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and former boxing champion Mike Tyson. For such people, some companies have come up with completely vegan products. Veganism means that the person stays away from all animals and even food derived from animals, like eggs, milk and cheese. These companies have beauty products that are all obtained from plants and herbs, and some of them are even registered with the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA.

Then there are sunless tanning solutions. Although bathing in the sun does impart a great bronzed look to the skin, there is no denying the fact that too much contained exposure to the sun's rays can cause a lot of harm to the skin, sometimes even cancer. Also, it requires a lot of patience for people to be able to sit for large amounts of time under the sun for days together, just to see a little tan. It is for this reason that these companies have come up with sunless tanning solutions, where you can avoid the danger of over exposure and at the same time get a great tan, quickly!

Then there are body wraps. A body wrap is a material that you will cover your body with, and then using infrared energy will aid in the reduction of cellulite. Infrared energy acts at molecular levels, breaking down bonds between fat cells by vibration. This leads to a number of things, like stimulation of blood circulation, enlargement of blood vessels and increase in the temperature of the dermis. It results in the body being contoured, to a lot of loss of unwanted fat and even relief of pain in joints.

Bleaching Cream For A Flawless Face

Facial skin whitening creams, also known as fade cream, may contain Net-DG which is an ingredient with anti-inflammatory properties used in sensitive skin care. The ingredient has been known to provide quick results when treating skin for irritation and itching. Advancements in technology have allowed the ingredient to be incorporated with other high concentrated components. The ingredient is known to play a role in facial skin bleaching products that help lighten skin with little or no irritation.

Fade cream is used to help reduce the appearance of dark spots on the body. There are different creams available such as Ageless Derma Skin Brightener Cream that is formulated to treat facial skin areas. Dark spots, also known as age spots, may appear on hands, shoulders and arms. One of the best ways to prevent further skin damage is to use sun screen. Rays from the sun have been known to contribute to the development of dark spots in the skin. Melanin helps maintain skin tone and protection from UV rays but too much produced by the skin may cause brown spots to appear on the surface of the skin. While these spots can't be removed permanently, they can be faded to help give the skin an even tone.

Usually with bleaching cream you apply it to areas of the skin that are affected by dark spots. It is often not necessary to apply the cream on surrounding skin areas but it may depend on the directions provided with the product. While many facial skin bleaching products are made with potent ingredients, some may have skin too sensitive for such products and lean toward home remedies. These recipes often include ingredients from the pantry such as lemon juice or herbs. The general idea when using home remedies is to remove dead cells from the skin that may be contributing to the age spots, also known as exfoliation.

For aging skin, there could be other skin issues associated with age spots such as fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. There are facial bleaching cream products formulated for mature skin and premature aging skin. Depending on the extent of your skin discoloration, you may need to see a dermatologist to review other treatment options. A chemical peel helps remove dead cells on the skin surface while laser surgery helps to correct the problem from within skin layers. When considering treatment for age spots it is important to be sure that they are, in fact age spots. This could be a concern if topical creams and other treatment options haven't worked or provide any noticeable changes in skin.

Some may find it difficult to find the right product since there are different options available, but doing research on quality ingredients while keeping your skin type and needs in mind, may help increase your chances of finding the best facial skin bleaching product. It also helps to have a routine in place to help you get maximum results. Having a routine in place may help you stay on track with your skin care regimen, especially if you have a busy lifestyle. Your routine can be personalized to meet your needs. It may include using your topical cream of choice in the morning or at bedtime. It helps to cleanse the skin before applying your product to remove dirt buildup and help the topical cream penetrate skin more efficiently.

Incorporate healthy habits such as drinking plenty of water and eating a balanced diet. Sometimes certain foods are known for helping the skin as well as promoting breakouts and dark spots. Some find it helpful to moisturize the skin at bedtime; this helps the skin gain moisture lost during the day. Others may opt for a glass of milk before going to sleep, which is also known for helping the skin maintain a natural glow. Utilize weekends or times during the week when you have additional free time to do whitening skin facials. These can be completed with specially formulated products available on the market, visiting your local spa or making homemade recipes with ingredients from the pantry.

There are face washing tips available that may include using items from home or specially formulated cleansers. The best facial skin bleaching cream will be a product formulated for your skin type. Review fade cream products available that help reduce brown spots while helping the skin gain an even tone. Talking with a skin care specialist may also give insight on how to treat your skin including what treatment options are best for you.

Women Professionals in the Automotive Industry

For the most part, the world of automotive careers remains dominated by men, but there are plenty of opportunities for women as well as reasons why the automotive field is a good place for women to be. Some sectors of the field are majority women, but even outside this range, cars could simply use more females in the garage, the saleroom floor and behind the wheel.

Dispatcher jobs are one of the few places currently dominated by women. Perhaps because switchboard and telephone operators have historically been women or because of a tendency for women to be pushed into social, customer service or people-focused jobs, it's not uncommon for dispatcher courses to be full of women.

If women can dispatch vehicles, they can certainly drive them. There is no reason for truck driving or even sitting behind the wheel of a limo to be a male dominated field other than custom. Critics of females in roles like taxi driver point to the risks inherent in working at all hours with strangers, but women already do that in a plethora of jobs from healthcare to food service. Additionally, for women who worry about safety, a female cab driver may even be seen as a positive thing.

On the other hand, cars have increasingly, at least from an owner's side, stopped being a male world. The majority of car owners are now women by a small margin, mostly necessitated by the fact that women as well as men work and require transportation. For many purposes male and female car needs are equivalent, though female car buyers favour smaller and more fuel efficient models.

One of the challenges faced by female car buyers is the occasionally accurate perception that they are not taken as seriously and with car prices being partially negotiable, face higher car prices than men. For women looking for an auto career this presents an easy opportunity to go into sales. Since the field is currently male dominated, female auto sales college grads can sell themselves as the more women friendly option to what will be over fifty percent of their client base.

Additionally, garages are starting to open up to women. Long labeled the bastion of he-man misogyny, no professional garage resembled the chauvinistic stereotype anymore. As with the sales floor, female car owners still need to get their cars serviced and sometimes feel like they're not sure if they can trust their technician. Automotive mechanic training it open to anyone any you may even be able to get special grants for females in trades to help fund your education.

Regardless of what you pick, if you're a woman, there's never been a better time than now to enter the field.

Three Essential Fashion Tools Every Woman Needs

Know yourselfis the rallying call of coaches, preachers, style writers and image consultants.

These two words are great. It is what the experts add after those two words that can inspire or deflate you. Most often they are negative words.

Know your body faults and read on for how to minimise or hide them is a common theme of many fashion articles.

Not this one.

I believe we women need to know ourselves in a positive way. It is more pleasurable and satisfying to concentrate on our strengths. Then our so-called negatives fade into insignificance and we present as comfortable in our skin and confident in our attitude to dressing and life.

Here are the three essential fashion tools that I believe every baby boomer woman needs so that you can know yourself positively.

A Pair of Scissors

Why scissors? Scissors are obviously useful for cutting off price tags. Then you need them for cutting off annoying or prickly tags; those coat hanger straps that can dangle out your armhole; any buttons, bows or added decoration that are not your style; untrimmed stitching on seams and that loose hem thread. We have all been in a hurry and pulled the loose thread. Suddenly the whole hem falls down. Your impatience and mine too leads to Plan B dressing.

If you have basic sewing skills, scissors are also great for cutting off the extra length on clothes or cutting extra pieces to add to too-short items.

A Tape Measure

I am not talking about measuring your bust, waist and hips. These may change over the years. Once you have grown to your full height (and that was probably a long time ago), it is your best lengths that are important. Get these right for you and you present a consistent and modern impression to everyone you meet.

These are the lengths I measure, record and refer to all the time. When I try on a new item, I know where these vital measurements are on my body so that I or my professional alteration person can adjust it to that length. I have found and measured my best short sleeve length, my best three-quarter sleeve length and my best long sleeve length. I also record my most flattering top and skirt lengths. Add to this my inside leg measurements for shorts, jeans and dress pants and it is always easy to look smart.

These may need minor adjustments according to the fit of the item. I measure, pin and then cut and sew or take the item to my alteration person.

Words of Warning!Adjust skirt lengths for modesty when seated. I have had hard experience in that area.

When I find a skirt, dress, pants or jeans with a very flattering line, I also record width measurements at certain lengths. Then I taper other clothes so that they are close to that flattering line.

The Word No

This one is a mental fashion tool. Time management experts tell us that we are defined more by what we say no to, rather than what we say yes to. It is the lure of the shiny objects and in fashion, we women sometimes find shiny objects hard to resist.

Say no to those lust-have items and impulse buys that are totally impractical wardrobe-wise and care-wise. It is much safer to take a picture and drool over the picture rather than spend your money and regret it later.

Say no to unwanted fashion advice - either from family, friends or sales assistants. Learn to understand your personality, colouring and style so others do not intentionally or unconsciously impose their view on you.

Say no to gifts of clothing from family and friends especially if you dislike the item and will never wear it. Politeness is not always a virtue. Be assertive about who you are and what you want to wear to represent the best in you.

Last Words

Yes, people judge you on first impressions. When you meet the same people regularly, it is your consistency or lack of it that they remember. Discover and measure your most flattering lengths, use scissors to define your style and say no often. These are three essential fashion tools that I use because they help me know and define myself positively.

Fashion Rules That All Baby Boomer Women Should Ignore

Lots of articles in fashion magazines are lists of what to wear or what not to wear when you reach a certain age.

Instead of creating more restrictions in your dressing, this article is about fashion advice I believe you need to ignore this year and probably for years after that.

Times change and today's Baby Boomer women do not want to be restricted in their thinking about dressing and life. We are not stagnating. We are active, visible and embracing new technology while creating businesses and professions that allow us to grow and mentor women of all ages.

So here are my three pieces of fashion advice that Baby Boomer women need to ignore now and in the future.

Cover Up Your Arms After 40

I read this one often in magazines, newspapers and online. What rubbish! Yet we women buy into this and examine their arms for perceived faults they must hide. To me it is all part of the anti-aging monster that has been created to convince us women that we must stay looking young and perfect forever.

I recently saw a magazine article claiming that 36 is the magic, desirable age for women. Being suspicious, I think it is because they found a lot of photos of models and actresses who are 36.

My advice is to be the age you are and aim to be as healthy as possible. Wear sleeveless or cap-sleeved tops and dresses if they flatter your colouring and shape. If you feel confident in the clothes you wear, people will notice this first. Then they will come and talk to your face not your arms. Go for a variety of sleeve lengths to suit your professional and casual lifestyle. Do not buy baggy sleeves because they are dowdy, especially on shirts and jackets. They cover but they do not flatter any woman.

Fashion is about confidence. So ignore this one with my blessing.

Every Woman needs a White Shirt

This type of article pops up regularly - The 10 essential fashion items every woman needs in her wardrobe. The classic white shirt is always high on the list because you can wear it to the office as well as casually with your jeans.

I have two arguments with this. Yes, a white shirt may be useful in a corporate office but so many of us Baby Boomers do not operate in that setting anymore. A classic white shirt does not fit our business casual environment. My second argument is that clear white suits only those with a cool colouring. The other half of women find that classic white is too stark for their warm colouring.

What are the alternatives? Wear a cool white shirt if it suits you. Look for one with feminine, sensual or dramatic touches or add accessories that create a modern look that is unique to you. White suits women with grey or white hair and is as versatile to accessorise as black. If you have warm colouring, search for a soft, pearl white or cream as these are more flattering for you. Soft whites and cream always look feminine and elegant.

Bottom Line- If you can find a white shirt that is flattering and versatile, buy it because it works for you not because someone said every woman needs one.

Never Wear Elasticised Waists Over 40

I am now gentler about this one than I used to be. Elasticised waists have an image of being worn by women who have let themselves go or who have chosen comfort over looking good.

Not so today as elastic, and the way we use it, has changed. Elastic now is used more on smoother-fitting clothes. You can find it on dress waistlines where you cover the elastic with a belt. Elastic is used in straight skirts, slim dress pants, jeggings and jeans. These all skim your body and create a more modern impression than the elasticised flowing, gathered skirts and baggy pants of yesteryear. Wear them with hip-length or longer tops rather than tucked-in shirts. It will be your modern style that others notice not your elasticised waistband.

There is nothing like a personal secret to make your confidence soar. Accept the compliments and do not reveal your secret.

Last Words

Fashion rules may seem like indisputable expert advice. Relax! To be more self-confident this year, have fun. Rather than adding more stress to your life, bend or ignore old rules to please yourself and fit your current lifestyle.

Face Cream For Your Skin Type

Dry skin is one of the symptoms of sensitive skin; the dryness is the cause of a big chunk of the reactions such as redness and itching.

Other signs include being susceptible to sun burn and in some cases easy formation of freckles when exposed to a lot of sun. Sensitive skin is also prone to allergies, the most common ones are food allergies where you eat something and get break outs.

There are a few things that should be avoided when it comes to this condition and exfoliating is one of them. It strips away the protective layer and can be irritating to skin. With this in mind sensitive skin still needs to be put through a good care regime. It's still essential to cleanse tone and moisturize it. The most important is to look out for face cream for dry skin made specifically for sensitive body as they have put into consideration what needs to be used when dealing with dry skin.

When selecting a cleanser or toner one that is hypoallergenic and look out for fragrances as they do not go well with sensitive skin. A good example is calendula, allantoin as well as chamomile.

When it comes to going for natural products for in face cream for dry skin, there are some great ingredients that are easily available even in your kitchen. A good example is oatmeal, cucumber, soy and avocado. One can even go a step further and have enriching home masks with these as it will prove beneficial to skin.

Sensitive skin will benefit even more with the use of sunscreen so it's good to invest in a for cream with an SPF of 15 and above. Go for healing and soothing ingredients such as aloe vera which also has the ability to protect your skin. In addition if you choose to use make up on your sensitive skin go a step further with the sun screen and opt for an SPF 30,keep in mind that liquid mineral make up is also the best choice for sensitive skin.

The facial treatment for dry skin is quite close to that of face cream for sensitive skin. Both skins are quite sensitive to harsh conditions, chemicals and treatments and so have similarity in treatment.

It's important to keep this types of skin moisturized all the time otherwise they get irritated and irritated skin is more susceptible to skin ailments such as rosacea, eczema and others.

Deficiency of certain vitamins in the diets can also exacerbate dry and sensitive skin. These include vitamin B complex, C and E. Vitamin B especially is great at dealing with sensitive skin issues and to increase its level in our bodies we need to eat more whole grain, wheat germ, low fat dairy products, sunflower oils among others.

People with this condition should also be very careful before taking up the use of any face creams for sensitive skin, the first thing to do is consult a dermatologist especially when there is severe irritation on skin. If not promptly taken care of irritated skin can end up getting more serious infections that will take longer to heal.

With face creams for dry skin and face cream don't forget to moisturize and keep away from products that have ingredients with a drying effect such as alcohol.

Causes Of Grey Hair and How to Be Rid Of Them

Have you ever given a thought as to why your hair started to grey out? This can actually be a symptom of a number of things. You might be getting older, or you might be facing a lot of stress in your life. However, have you ever thought that your genes might have something to do with it as well? You'll probably see the first strands at the age your grandparents or parents did but the rate will depend on your particular lifestyle. If you smoke on a regular basis, don't eat balanced meals, don't have sufficient vitamin levels in your body or have an untreated thyroid condition, the 'grey areas' will start to appear more quickly.

How Hair goes Grey

The process is typically facilitated by the pigment that actually produces this effect i.e. melanin, which is also responsible for tanning your skin as sunlight hits it. However, studies have shown that stress also has a lot to do with this unwelcome phenomenon. This can be anything from chronic stress to physical, emotional stress that lasts more than two years. Such conditions cause hair to go grey before a person's genetic pattern has time to catch up.

You see, when you start stressing out too much, your entire body starts to age before its time. The demands of the modern era have made this phenomenon common place. When you respond or defend yourself against certain events you believe can harm you, your body's in built defenses get to work by releasing stress hormones i.e. cortisol and adrenaline. This can also contribute to premature grey hair growth.

If you have dry hair, it can also cause grey hair to appear before its time. The dry follicles contain cells called melanocytes which in turn produce eumelanin and phemelanin which transfer the melanin to the cells that create keratin. When these die out, they take on the coloring of the melatonin (which is a mixture of dark brown and yellow). When the first grey strands appear the melanocytes may be present but they will not be as strong. As a result, the hair gets less pigmentation which makes it appear lighter than before. If this isn't curbed, the melanocytes eventually die off and you are left with a full head of grey hair as a result.

This may be normal as you get older and is not caused by diseases per se, but some autoimmune conditions can cause premature grey hair as well. However, some people who hit their 20s can also experience this even if they are perfectly healthy.

Keep the Grey Away with Get Away Grey

One of the ways you can keep that luscious head of hair is to use Get Away Grey on it. The formula is made from natural ingredients and is a Super Premium Vitamin that contains a rich blend of Catalese enzyme that works to prevent hair from lightening along with herbal and mineral additives that add shine and thickness to dry and dull locks.

5 Tips to Look Effortlessly Stylish Daily

Do you constantly struggle trying to look stylish daily? The world of fashion can be a very difficult area to navigate and plenty of people get it completely wrong even though they have plenty of money to spend. Looking chic and well-dressed requires a bit of hard work and some inspiration, but you'll be glad for it in the end. Whether you are off to work or to run errands, it helps your confidence to know that you are looking fashionable.

Follow the tips given below in order to look stylish daily:

1. Buy clothes that flatter your figure and not just ones that are fashionable (this is a good way to learn the distinction between stylish and fashionable). For instance, if you have wide hips then skinny jeans will not suit you at all. Buy jeans and pants that have a slight flare at the bottom to balance out your look.

2. Pick up classic pieces that can be used in different ways to create myriad looks. A well-fitting blazer or a wonderful pair of pants can be matched with many other clothes. The blazer, for instance, looks entirely different when worn with a flowing skirt instead of trousers. Your wardrobe should also contain a good leather jacket, a well-cut knee length skirt and a classic sheath dress in black (or navy blue or brown).

3. Get rid of things that have been sitting in your wardrobe for too long. Face it, some things will never come back in style again (think jackets with pointy shoulder pads). Besides, you'll need to review the colors and styles you wear as you become older and also based upon what is going on in the fashion scene.

4. Buy the right accessories. Even if you have only one handbag or a pair of sunglasses make sure that they are absolutely gorgeous and unique. You can transform the look of everyday clothes with a lovely scarf or a stylish belt. Vintage and thrift stores are great places to go looking for stylish things at great prices.

5. Maintain your clothes (and yourself) impeccably. All the effort put into buying the right clothes will go down the drain if you look an absolute mess in them. You will not look anything but polished if you are well-groomed.

Once you take the trouble to look stylish daily then you'll feel confident about taking bigger fashion risks. Over time, you will be able to create a style that is uniquely yours.

The Natural Disaster - Why Women Suffer Disproportionately

Disasters do discriminate. Natural and man-made disasters have severe effects on all involved. However, unique and significant impacts affect predominantly women in the disaster zone.

Recent history shows that females are more likely to become casualties in many types of disaster scenarios than males. For many regions of the globe, females are less likely to receive medical, hygienic or psychological aid when they need it. They also fall victim to domestic and violent abuse more often than males do.

Both official and rogue military units frequently abuse women, particularly those of different ethnic groups, as a psychological tactic against their perceived enemies. Sexual violence is also a significant problem in refugee camps, where many women and children are forced to live in close proximity to strangers after they are evacuated from a disaster area.

The dangerous and vulnerable condition of women in these areas isn't without recognition. Various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other groups have developed grants, initiatives and other projects specifically to assist women impacted by natural disasters.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) also recognises the unique needs of female disaster victims. The WHO's Department of Gender, Women and Health researches and assesses the impact that natural disasters have on women. Unfortunately the opportunity to study the effects of natural disasters has increased in frequency and severity in recent years. Three recent examples include, Hurricane Sandy in the Caribbean and the United States in 2012, the Japanese Tsunami 2011, Flooding in China, Laos and Thailand 2011. Due to the widespread impact zones of these types of disasters alone collectively resulted in over 10 million people requiring relocation, medical assistance, housing and food until normality could be restored.

Despite the efforts by educational institutions, government agencies and non-profit organisations, there is still a need for more information regarding the impact that disasters have on women. Experts studying the relationship between gender and natural disasters frequently echo the need for more research, particularly for data that is separated by sex.

In many third world countries women are marginalised from the outset; restricted to child rearing and household duties. In the West, women are demonstrating their capacity to contribute insightful and valuable perspectives on all manner of professions. Emergency management is perhaps, a field in which women are underrepresented and initiatives should be set in place to build more effective emergency organisations with a broad base that reflects the diversity of the country it represents and its future.

Actively recruiting women for roles in emergency management is essential.

Professional Business Attire for Women

When we meet someone for the first time we make an immediate decision based on their general appearance. It is therefore crucial that we present ourselves to the best possible advantage. Before you leave the house look at yourself in a full length mirror and ask yourself what would I think if I was meeting myself for the first time? People spend thousands of pounds on their education and forget that they will more often be judged on how they present themselves than what they know.

Although there are general standards and expectations for business attire it should be appropriate for the company you are working in and your position in the company. Below I am going to focus on professional business attire for women.

The most professional business outfit is a plain coloured suit made with good material such as wool or a woollen blend, with a knee length skirt (just below or above the knee) is the most professional. The best colours are black, navy, dark blue, or grey. If you wear a dress make sure it is worn with a jacket and adhere to the above guidelines to keep it professional and business like. Some women prefer to wear a trouser-suit; if this is the case the trousers should rest at the top of the foot or shoe without creasing when your leg is straight.

Blouses and tops worn under your jacket should blend well and complement the suit. Choose natural materials such as cotton or silk. Be very careful with patterns, one pattern is probably sufficient for formal business attire. Be careful that the neckline is not too low. Avoid sleeveless tops unless you intend to keep your jacket on.

If wearing a scarf choose a silk scarf which should complement what you are wearing.

Bare legs are not appropriate for a professional business look. Always wear tights of a neutral or flesh colour.

A smart leather court shoe with a one to three inch heel is fine; avoid very high heels, flat heels, high boots, sandals and sling backs.

When wearing jewellery keep it simple; wear pearl, silver or gold small stud earrings or earrings with a small drop. Avoid wearing more than one pair of earrings, large hoops or long dangling earrings.

Not more than one ring on each hand other than the wedding combination.

Do not wear rings in your nose or eyebrow. Wear a good classic watch.

Choose a good quality briefcase, writing materials, pen and digital equipment.

You can use your accessories to reflect your personality but keep it professional. It is fine to modify your clothing to fit your office, position or culture.

Looking For an Anti-Wrinkle Cream? Check Out Its Must-Have Ingredients Before You Buy

Anti-wrinkle creams, as the name suggests, are medical cosmetics that are scientifically created to eliminate all signs of premature aging on your face, such as wrinkles, crows' feet and fine lines. These products also make your skin taut, give your skin its natural elasticity and give it a glow you never imagined possible.

The ingredients that make this effective are now a part of every respectable anti-wrinkle cream, eye cream or serum. If you are looking to have smoother and younger looking skin for much longer, read the ingredients information on such cosmetics before you buy.

Ingredients to look for: There are many active ingredients of anti-wrinkle creams that go to make them a huge success. These are: Retinol, Coenzyme Q10, Vitamins A, C and E, green tea extracts and hydroxyl acids. These ingredients help reduce the development of wrinkles, and even out your skin tone, moisturize and hydrate it.

Major ingredients: Apart from various ingredients that do a lot to make aging skin look youthful and tight, here are three major and potent ingredients that can transform old looking skin into youthful and vibrant skin:

Matrixyl 3000: Matrixyl 3000 was scientifically developed and is known to repair skin damage associated with aging. It comprises peptides and matrikines. It also contains Pal-GHK (palmitoyl oligopeptide) and Pal-GQPR (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7) which work jointly as antioxidants to fight the negative signs of skin aging. They also stimulate the collagen and fibronectin molecules to reduce one's facial wrinkles.

Both Pal-GHK and Pal-GQPR contain amino acids connected to palmitic acid and help with deep skin penetration. While Pal-GHK is particularly effective in stimulating new collagen synthesis, Pal-GQPR is instrumental in retarding the growth of the skin matrix and encouraging new cells to develop.

Matrixyl 3000 mimics the body into thinking that its collagen store is damaged. The body is stimulated to produce its own collagen and elastin store, which helps tighten up sagging skin, restore its natural elasticity, give your complexion fullness and iron out wrinkles.

Its ability to restore our natural skin elasticity can be proved by a study conducted on two groups of 23 volunteers, 39 years to 74 years of age. They applied a cream on their faces twice a day that contained 3% Matrixyl 3000 or 3% Matrixyl and when the study ended, they found that the skin tone and elasticity of the subjects improved significantly, thus proving

Matrixyl 3000's efficacy in restoring skin elasticity and youth to subjects.

In another study, Matrixyl 3000 demonstrated that it could reduce wrinkle density by an amazing 33%, wrinkle volume by 23% and wrinkle depth by 20%. This, along with the study above, proves that Matrixyl 3000 can significantly reduce existing wrinkles and improve its tone and elasticity.
Benefits:

• It reduces wrinkle density, depth and volume, elevates sagging skin and improves skin tone considerably.
• Matrixyl 3000 fights free radicals, gives an even skin tone, increases skin thickness, moisturizes the skin and give it the firmness of youth and a healthy look.

Argireline: This is the patented name of Acetyl hexapeptide-3, a synthetic ingredient of anti-wrinkle creams. It is a peptide which contains Botox's substrate, a derivative of natural proteins, comprises six amino acids and is known as a mini version of Botox.

Argireline gets rid of existing wrinkles, fine lines and creases near the eyes and forehead and prevents the formation of new ones. In combination with a chemically manufactured cosmetic compound, Argireline relaxes the facial muscles that help us smile or frown which, in turn, help dramatically reduces any wrinkles caused due to muscle contractions.
It does this by inhibiting the neurotransmitters in the brain that tell our facial muscles when to tense. Its effectiveness was proved when 27% of women subjects had reduced wrinkle depth when they used a cream that contained 10% Argireline.
Benefits:

• It is pain-free and saves time and the expense of seeing a dermatologist.
• Argirelene calms contracted muscles that cause lowered wrinkle depth.
• It relaxes muscles in the same way that Botox does

PhytoCell Tec-Smell Cell: This ingredient of anti-wrinkle creams uses the stem cells of a very rare Swiss apple known for its longevity, to improve the lifespan of our skin cells, save it from the sun's harmful radiation and help the genes that repair DNA.

In a study of 20 subjects aged between 37 and 64 years, the efficacy of this ingredient was tested. It was applied twice a day to the crows' feet near the subjects' eyes. When the experiment ended, each subject showed a definite reduction in wrinkle depth, thus proving that PhytoCell Tec-Smell Cell is effective in reducing wrinkles and restoring a youthful look to the skin.

Stem cell technology helps to strengthen, rejuvenate, improve, support and protect our skin cells to check that they can develop new ones and retard the signs of skin aging.

Adult Motherless Daughters: Mothers and Daughters

What is Motherloss?

An article about the effects of a daughter losing her mother. The loss of a mother is never easy, but it can be devastating.

Motherloss is, in part, the absence of the maternal parent, through some form of loss. Some experience motherloss through death, some through physical separation or emotional separation. Others experience motherloss through mental illness, abandonment, neglect or abuse.

When adult women lose their mother, there is a sense of expectancy, as it is a natural part of the life cycle process. When a young girl loses her mother, there is a shift internally. She begins to try to identify and define that part of self which is feminine and maternal, that which will make up a large part of her eventual identity. She must try to do so alone.

For the girls who do not have a mother figure to assist them, there can be a radical difference in the way their personality develops, which can impact every developmental milestone into adulthood. Mothers generally provide a secure framework out of which self-identity is formed. When this is removed from a young girl's life, there is an early maturation process that takes place. What can sometimes be compromised are other necessary developmental building blocks, such as self-esteem, self-identity, peer and age appropriate developmental skills, as well as intimacy, attachments, perceptions of adequacy and values.

The loss of a parent as an adolescent affects each individual differently, however, the effects can last a lifetime if not addressed. Sometimes it can be as subtle as recurring dating issues or even typical daily conversation abilities. Sometimes it can be as profound as being able to communicate with your own children, or worse, attaching to them. In rare occasions, it may cause a trauma-like state, causing the individual to block out much of the undesired or painful memories. In this situation, the person may not be able to function in areas well with mild to severe difficulty in many areas of life and no seeming reason for any of it. Too many times these individuals are lumped together in categories that would leave others to presume instability, troubled lives, or inability to perform 'normal' functions. Often, this only serves to exclude them from perceived 'healthy' peers, which only exacerbates the already existing issues. We call this comorbidity, and this is the ripple in the pond that reaches far and deep, even if the surface only looks slightly rippled.

In therapy, the focus is on the normal transition from child to teen and teen to adult, when tempered with motherloss. This process brings out natural developmental milestones that are necessary for daughters to become a woman who is independent of her motherloss experience. There is an integration of her experiences, a self that is independent of her loss, but not her past. If the daughter does not take the opportunity to work through her motherloss, there is a very good chance that, as her physical body ages, the wounded daughter inside will not.
