Footwear Guide for Stylish Women

Stylish women not only wear impeccable clothes, but have a great overall look from head to toe. They've got the right hairstyle, clothes, accessories, and, of course, shoes. Looking fantastic right down to your feet means that you don't miss out on any detail when it comes to style and grooming. It may be quite challenging to select the perfect pair of shoes to wear every time you go out. You shouldn't just think of the season, the trend, and the occasion. You also have to think about your comfort. So here are some tips on how to find the right flats, pumps, sandals, and boots when shopping.

Flats are on your must-haves in your closet. You can wear this versatile pear any season. Depending on the color and details of your flats, you can wear them to make a chic daytime outfit or a comfy but trendy nighttime wear. You can choose from the ballerina, the really pointed one, or the pair that has tassels or metal accents. There are even those made of metallic fabric or with colored jewels that can make your shirt and jeans look really hot even at night.

Another staple in a woman's wardrobe should be black pumps. Heels make everyone's legs and posture better-looking and can be worn with almost any outfit. They're perfect for the office and for cocktail parties. You shouldn't wear heels all the time, though. Always have a pair of flats with you. Keep them in your office, purse, or car, so you can change into them when your feet are tired from your pumps.

Sandals also make your legs look better. But you should save them for wearing during the warmer periods of the year. They really look fabulous when worn with a maxi dress or a flowing skirt. And remember that stylish women always keep their feet and toes clean, particularly when showing them off in sandals. If you're wearing nail polish, make sure that it doesn't have any cracks.

Boots aren't limited anymore for wearing in winter. You can wear shorter ones, like ankle boots, at any time of the year, as long as you're comfortable with them. Boots can be worn with shorts, jeans, leggings, or skirts of any length. However, when wearing ankle boots with your skirt, you should wear opaque tights.

Knowing these basic tips about footwear fashion can make a big difference in your shopping and in your whole wardrobe. These will also help you decide on what shoe to wear with what outfit everyday.

Tips for Happy Living - Managing Your Morning and Evening Routines

As a working mom it is very important that you set up routines for yourself and your household. Routines allow you to know what's going on at that particular moment so that you will not forget anything. Routines prepare you for the next day and help you move faster and more coherently than flying around looking for this and that item.

At one point my morning routine consisted of me waking up (late, cause I'm always trying to get more sleep). Rushing to take a shower, trying to figure out what I'm going to where, make breakfast (ha!! yeah right), making sure my husband is up so he can take the little one to school. Lastly, I'm racing out the house to catch the bus so that I can make it to work on time. Does any of this sound remotely familiar? I even bet the rest of your day you are unfocused, handling a million task at once trying to get it all done so you can get off from work to race home to pick up your children from daycare, come up with something to eat (preferably something that takes 30 minutes or less), watch your favorite shows, help kids with homework, go to bed so you can lay there thinking about all that you did not accomplish for the day (and tomorrow). To be honest this is a waste of time and there is a better way to manage your morning and evening routine.

3 Steps to Manage Your Routines Better

  1. The first step is to think about what are the things you do every single morning and every single evening. For example, in my wild routine every morning I wake up late (keep hitting that snooze button) so I now have to rush to get ready so that I can catch my bus. I never know what I'm going to where, so that put me behind as well. These things will never change.
  2. The second step is to figure out what will help make those steps easier. If I knew what I was wearing to work that morning that would decrease the time it takes for me to get ready in the morning significantly. I can spend about 10 - 20 minutes trying to figure out what I'm going to where. But if I already know, then it only takes 10 minutes to put the clothes on.
  3. The third step is to take action. What I started to do was think about my outfit for tomorrow the night before. Actually this starts at the beginning of the week. On Sunday I get a vague idea of what I will where for the week so that I can think about my outfit the night before.

These are 3 simple steps to help you manage your evening and morning routines better. But keep in mind one thing, Flexibility. It's important that you don't get too attached to your routine that if change happens to occur it ruins your entire routine. A perfect example of this is instead of my husband taking my little one to school, I must do it because his schedule has changed. So I have to adjust my routine to allow for the time to get my little one ready as well so we both aren't running around crazy.

Having a more relaxed routine can help you tremendously. The major reward is seeing how much time you can actually skim off of your morning and evening so you can do more with family, friends, and yourself.

Do you have routines? Do you manage them well? Share with us below.

1 Little Fruit That Is the Secret to Curing Your PMS

For many women, PMS can strike like a thunder bolt in your sleep. It disrupts your life and viciously continues its wrath of fury for countless generations in women's families. In addition, for some generations of women in families, cysts and fibroids are a continuing curse.

These issues have plagued millions of women probably since the dawn of time and continue its fury while many suffer feeling hopelessness. I realized through my experimentation that the types of food that are eaten at least a few days before and during your expected cycle makes a significant difference in how you feel during this time.

The types of foods also apparently makes a vast difference in how you look as well because many women experience acne breakouts on the chin during menstruation time. According to the Old Chinese Western Medicine Principle, acne on the chin signifies that there are reproductive (hormonal) issues at bay in the body.

Well, there is good and great news. Which one do you want first? The good news is that there is an all-natural substance, in the form of a fruit, that will alleviate PMS symptoms like bloating, nausea, and cramps. The great news is that this food is dirt cheap and with continual incorporation into your diet, will reduce your chance of developing fibroids or cysts.

This amazing food is dried apricots! You can find them in many stores, but it is important to use only the unsulphured version that does not have additional sugar added. Natural health food stores will carry these types or you may contact your favorite supermarket manager and request he or she bring in unsulphured dried apricots with no sugar added. Be sure to only eat 1 serving of it as it is sugary and calorie dense but it has a wealth of vitamins that will help ease PMS pain.

After eating the serving of apricots, be sure to drink at least a glass of lukewarm water behind it to dilute some of the sugar and hydrate yourself. Water is a PMS-ing girls best friend. It is a good idea to eat a serving of dried apricots starting at least 3 days before your expected menstrual cycle and the first two days while you are on it. Remember to drink a lot of water during the days before and during the first two days on your cycle to reduce bloating and help the apricots absorb better into the body.

What about fresh apricots? These are nice fruits to add into your diet, but it is preferable to have apricots dried in this specific situation because they are more concentrated in nutrients than fresh apricots by the serving size. Generally speaking, you do not want to eat mostly dried fruits because they are very dense in calories and sugar with little hydration factor that fresh fruit offers. Fresh is best, but in this case dried will be better.

Wedding Dresses - Edwardian Lace Wedding Dress

Every person wants to meet their special someone, and spend their life together with them. Through a special ceremony, a wedding, these people are joined together by exchanging vows to each other, vowing that they would spend all their lives together, be it in good times or hard times.

However, a wedding wouldn't take place without the most important characters of one - the groom, the bride, and of course, the wedding dress.

While the groom's dress is worth mentioning as well, the wedding dress is much more characteristic than the latter, having different forms, colors, and styles. That is why it takes time for a bride to pick one for herself, as she would want to look her best on that special day. One dress style she can choose to wear is the Edwardian Lace wedding dress, which has its roots on the Edwardian era.

The Characteristics of an Edwardian Lace Dress

The Edwardian dress has all the characteristics of a dress worn during the Edwardian era (1901-1910). Women back then were wearing corsets in order to project a perfect hourglass figure. They also have long sleeves and high necklines. These wedding dresses are entirely made from silk and lace, which makes it look elegant.

Today, Edwardian dresses still have the same silk and lace material, but having quite a different touch in terms of style. For one, brides need not to wear corsets anymore. The sleeves were also made shorter, and the high necklines were lowered. Though the style is different compared to that of the original Edwardian wedding dress, the existing ones retains the style and elegance of the original.

Edwardian Lace Wedding Dress Accessories

In order to accentuate the look of a wedding dress, it is important to wear accessories along with it. Of course, not all accessories go well with a wedding dress, so it is best that you choose the best accessories to go along with the wedding dress.

If you are wearing an Edwardian Lace wedding dress with a low neckline, wearing a necklace will definitely improve the overall look. If you want to complete the Edwardian era look, wearing a locket necklace definitely helps, as this is usually worn by women when attending parties and other important events.

Bracelets can also help in completing the look, although it is quite out of place especially if you are trying to emulate an Edwardian era wedding (as most women do not wear bracelets during that time). However, wearing one complements the gown well, and if you are wearing a short-sleeved dress, bracelets can complement the look very well.

Wearing lacy undergarments also complement the dress very well. However, it is important to note that lace dresses are form-fitting. This means that lace dresses are not suggested for people who are conscious about their form and posture.

Wedding comes only once on a woman's life. With that said, it is important that you prepare for it and dress up appropriately, as to make good memories out of it.

Are You in the Frumpy Zone?

There is a fine line between looking chic, polished and pulled together and looking frumpy. While no one actively seeks to be frumpy, sometimes women resign themselves to the frump factor simply because they give up - they get tired of trying, they are too busy or they just have no idea what to wear and how it should fit.

While it can seem elusive to create a perfectly flattering outfit, it doesn't have to be as hard as you might think.

In fact, sometimes it just takes one or two small changes to take your look from fabulous to frumpy and I want to enlighten you to some of those changes so that you can look chic each and every day and steer clear of the frumpy zone:

1. Hemlines - Take a look at the skirts pictured. The first style is primarily for younger women with great legs. My best recommendation for skirt and dress hemlines is somewhere between the top and bottom of your kneecap. Once your skirt length starts hovering around the mid-calf area that's when it ventures into the frumpy zone. The same is true for cropped pants, so beware! This look will make your legs appear shorter and heavier so steer towards lengths that end at the slimmest part of your leg and see how fabulous you look!

2. Fit - Trade in your big, baggy tee shirts and opt for something that skims the body and shows your shape. Yes, I say this all the time but it's so true. Big and baggy may be comfortable, but body-skimming can be just as comfy without visually adding pounds or creating a sloppy appearance.

3. Neatness - Take a look at your outfit and determine how neat it is. Does your shirt need to be ironed? Are there holes in your sweatpants? Have your shoes or jacket seen better days? These all add up to work against you and keep you in the frumpy zone.

4. Unfinished Business - If you throw on a top and pants and head out the door chances are your look is unfinished, meaning you've left off the finishing touches. What accessories could you add to give polish? Sometimes just a belt, a watch and a pair of earrings are all it takes to transform your look from frumpy to fabulous.

5. Go the extra mile - What else could you add to your look to take it up a notch? Try a chic trench coat, a pretty cardigan or a scarf to give it that third layer that sends the message that you're confident as well as chic and you know how to look fabulous!

Your assignment: When you get dressed have a checklist using the tips above. If your look doesn't pass muster take the necessary steps to get it up to par and see how not only your image is boosted, but your confidence will be too!

3 Timeless and Cute Formal Hairstyles That Are Easy to Create

Sometimes, certain events call for elegant hair and nothing else will do! Whether you're attending a ball (yes, there are still balls!), a benefit, or some other event that demands an ultra-classy and sophisticated look, elegant formal hair styles are a necessity. If you are assuming you're going to have to spend a fortune at a salon, think again! Some of these looks are actually the easiest styles to create.

As with other looks, it's always recommended to try these out before the actual event. This gives you the opportunity to see which look you like the best so you're not in a panic trying to change styles at the last minute.

Twisted Low Pony Tail

It can be tempting to slick your hair back into a low ponytail or a bun, but elegant hair doesn't have to be quite so neat. Use rollers or a curling iron to put your hair in ringlets. To create a twisted ponytail, start at your face and twist one inch pieces of hair to create rolls all the way to the nape of your neck, and pin in place. You can then either create a low ponytail, or use a barrette or a flower to hold the hair together at the neck. Finally, gently fluff the curls hanging down from the neck.

Ballerina Bun

Although low buns are typically thought of when one visualizes formal hairstyles, the ballerina bun is a youthful, chic alternative. This is a look that never goes out of style and is perfect for humid conditions, so you won't have to worry about losing your look because of the weather.

A ballerina bun is easiest to achieve with second-day hair because the natural oils will help hold the style in place. If your hair is not straight, use an iron to create a sleek look, paying close attention to the roots.

Now, use a boar brush to put your hair into a high ponytail at the crown of your head. Lift the ponytail into the air and then twist clockwise to create a small bun. Fan the hair around the bun and pin it in place. You may want to add hair accessories around the bun or on the side of your head to dress the look up a bit.

French Twist

There are many variations of the French twist that are extremely elegant. These can be done with curly or straight hair, all up or half down, with hair accessories added or without. The French twist can offer you elegant hair with a ton of different looks.

Although you can tweak this look many different ways, it's easiest to begin by brushing your hair back from your forehead and gathering it at the nape of your neck. Now, twist the hair in a clockwise direction twice to hold the base near your head.

Holding the ponytail in one hand, extend it toward the ceiling in the other. Fold the hair about one-third of the way from the top and curl the folded ponytail so you create a twist. When the hair is twisted where you want it, hold it in place with bobby pins.

With a little practice, you will find you can create these this style anywhere on your head - off-center, diagonal, horizontal, or even one on each side of your head while leaving the back of your hair down. You are truly only limited by your own creativity and imagination here.

Summary

I hope you enjoyed this summary of my 3 most favorite elegant formal hairstyles of all time. Of course, these hairstyles are primarily for women with longer hair - click for an overview of some of my favorite short hairstyles of all time.

Cure PMS Now: What All PMS Sufferers Must Know

Menstruation is one of those topics that women talk about, but then again they do not talk about. Every month, millions of women are bothered by PMS symptoms such as cramps, heavy bleeding, nausea, mood swings, depression, weight gain, and more. Most suffer the entire course of their menstruating years feeling like there is no way out except maybe with birth control. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay with birth control. Birth control artificially "controls" how your hormones behave with each other with a truckload of side effects such as migraines, random spotting, nausea, and mood swings. In addition to these side effects that oddly enough resemble some PMS symptoms, once women stop using birth control, their PMS symptom horrors amplify even worse than before using birth control!

Through many years of experimentation and research, I noticed that the type of foods eaten right before and during the cycle makes a remarkable difference in the intensity of PMS pain. Some foods have the ability to make your life a lot easier and ease PMS symptoms while other foods exaggerate the pain. It is not about going on a diet, but by avoiding certain types of food, at least just for one week every month. If the cravings are unbearable, then find an appropriate substitute or eat a small portion of your craving.

Here are some tips to adhere to at least a day before your expected cycle going into the end to ease period pain.

1. Avoid Cow Based Products

Dairy products includes cheese (say no to pizza!), milk, ice-cream, etc. It does not matter if it is organic or not, since organic dairy products still contain hormones. Dairy products exaggerate menstrual cramps so it is wise to avoid them. If you crave ice-cream, substitute with using almond milk substitutes, but eat only a small amount (like one serving or less) because they are sugary and sugar is not a friend of a menstruating woman either.

2. Avoid Chocolate

This may be very difficult because many women crave chocolate during their PMS episodes. But, have you noticed how you feel after eating a lot of chocolate? The initial stage is a great feeling but is then followed by a devastating crash. This crash is worse when you are on your cycle because a cascade effect occurs where not only do you feel exhausted but cramps are amplified as well. Try to substitute it for ginger candies, but if you really have an irresistible craving for chocolate, then eat only a very small amount of it. It is best to avoid it, but sometimes a craving just overpowers.

3. Eliminate or dramatically reduce any sweets intake like candies (except for a small portion of ginger candy), cakes, pies, cookies, tarts, etc. Substitute with fresh fruits like grapes, figs, and mangoes.

4. Do not overeat.

Overeating wrecks havoc on your health, state of mind, energy levels, and the whole works. Overeating is just plain bad for you, not just during menstruating time! You may still eat your favorite foods within reason during this time, assuming they do not have dairy or chocolate in them, but it is best to eat them in small portions. The reason why overeating is worse during menstruating time is because many women have bloating as a symptom. Overeating only adds more trouble to this issue. An easy way to help prevent overeating is to eat slower and smaller meals throughout the day.

5. Drink a lot of water first thing in the morning.

What is "a lot" of water, right? Well, this will depend on a variety of factors such as your body weight, exercise levels, climate, etc. It is best for water to be room temperature or hot (like in a decaffeinated tea). If you can get in around 64 ounces first thing in the morning (that's about 2 cups) that would be a good start to the day. This will of course cause you to want to use the bathroom within the next 20 minutes or so, but that's the point. You want to clear your system out first thing and while on an empty stomach; this will help reduce bloating and cramping. The body is able to better absorb room temperature or hot fluids. And it induces a soothing feeling in the body, which is what you want especially during this time. You do not want to consume many cold fluids while on your cycle.

Overcoming Fear in Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy can be a fearful time, especially if you are unaware of the options available to you. It is important to face your fears, deal with them, and move on to making wise choices. Fear itself can have a crippling effect, both emotionally and physically, which can be harmful to you, your baby, and your entire birth experience if not well-managed.

If it's true that "the truth will set you free," then knowledge can be the antidote to fear. Fear, coupled with a lack of knowledge, can hinder our best efforts in three ways. It can paralyze us into accepting our assumptions, which may or may not be based on fact. It can lead us into bad choices, clouding our minds with emotion so that reason cannot prevail. And lastly, an unhealthy fear can have physical implications during pregnancy and childbirth that lead to complications, prevent relaxation, and make birth more difficult than it has to be.

Therefore, it is vital to the well-being of you and your baby that you take the time to face your fears and deal with them early in your journey. One way to do this is by examining all your options. If, for example, you fear the actual birth process, begin by learning what is really going on during that time. A childbirth class or the internet can teach you what your body does to bring your baby into this world. It is really quite amazing. Know what to expect during the three phases of labor and the different strategies for dealing with each.

In addition to the physical details of labor, find out about your options. Are you planning on a hospital birth because that's what everyone you know has done? What are the benefits of a birth center environment or a home birth? Learn about how midwives differ from ob-gyns in their philosophy, approach, and abilities. If you assume one kind of childbirth is the easiest, explore the pros and cons of that method as well as the other options and variations: cesarean, vaginal, epidural, medicated, natural. There is a lot to learn, but it's worth it to have the knowledge that can calm your fears and help you make informed choices for you and your baby.

Another important step in handling fear may include a fear release session. This strategy will help with fears that require more than mere facts to conquer. Hypnobirthing is one childbirth coping method that encourages taking an emotional inventory during your pregnancy, and facing the fears that might hinder you. A variety of hurts and insecurities from your past can interfere with the birth process if not handled. The fears need to be acknowledged and set free in some tangible way such as writing them on paper and burning them. This can improve your mental and emotional health in order to free your body to do its birthing work. Some more serious emotional fears and issues, of course, may require professional therapy.

Knowledge may not solve all your problems, dilemmas, and hang-ups during your pregnancy, but it can definitely bring you peace and confidence in making wise decisions at every turn, enabling you to do the best you can for you and your baby. Try to be objective and learn all that you can, setting aside your assumptions. You might be surprised. Better yet, you might be liberated.

What Does a Personal Stylist Do?

The role of personal stylists or personal shoppers was limited in the past to a few media personalities. Now with the prominence of the fashion industry in the global market we are seeing a lot more of these "image consultants" popping up, but what exactly is it that they do?

Personal Stylists are a more freely available incarnation of the "Wardrobe Stylist" role that we saw emerges in the age of television. They would collaborate with a creative team to select items of clothing relevant to the theme or show that they were working on. This was especially effective on projects and shows that put focus on image or fashion.

A personal stylist aims to provide that service to fulfil and cultivate the ideas of image and personal wardrobe for the individual. It could be for something as simple as a wedding and event, or even just something to look extra nice in the office. This may seem like a relatively frivolous occupation, but taking into consideration the huge emphasis the west puts on your individual appearance it's no wonder personal stylists are becoming incredibly popular amongst wealthy people concerned about their appearance.

Your stylist will take into consideration colours that suit your eyes and complexion, in addition to your body shape and personality. Obviously you have a say in this and you will discuss what exactly you are trying to aim for with your new look.

Personal stylists make around £50-100 an hour on a relatively skilled wage, however upstarts and interns can be considerably less. They will visit various outlets with your style in mind, their advice is far more impartial than an assistant in a clothing store, as they have nothing to lose whether or not a certain brand is purchased or not. With the current obsession with fashion and the ever shifting "trendy brands" it is impossible to keep up with such a world yourself, and necessary to outsource, especially if you spend a lot of time shopping.

If you are concerned with staying up to date, or getting an appearance overhaul, a personal stylist is most definitely for you. There is something relatively cynical about it, if you perceive clothing as a way of expressing yourself, then why let someone else define that for you? I think it has gotten a bit out of hand when someone is required out of hand to keep us up to date with all the latest fashion trends. If you feel confident in what you're wearing, even if it looks terrible then you still have that massive advantage of thinking you look great, which is far preferable to looking great and acting like you look terrible. Surely the clothes are for you, not everyone else.

Top 3 Easiest Yet Most Elegant Women's Hairstyles of All Time

There's no doubt about it - having an arsenal of simple hairstyles that you can pick and choose from is extremely helpful. Whether you are someone who rarely does much with her hair and now you need a style for a special event, or if you're running late and just don't have time to fuss with it, understanding how to quickly and easily style your hair really comes in handy.

As such, the purpose of this article is to share with you 3 of my all-time favorite easy-to-do hairstyles. These super simple hairstyles will allow you to achieve an elegant look for any occasion with minimal effort. And let's face it, what could possibly be better than that?

The Sassy Bun

Many simple hairstyles often begin with a bun. However, this doesn't mean that your bun has to be boring! The sassy bun updo is easy to create yet it will look like you spent hours at the salon.

All you are going to do is pull your hair up into a ponytail at the crown of your head and secure it in place with an elastic hair band. Now, take two-inch pieces and crisscross them, anchoring them in place with bobby pins. If you want to add more volume, gently tease each section of hair at the base of the ponytail. You can leave a few strands hanging around your face and at the nape of your neck, or you can wear it all up for a very clean look; the choice is yours.

The Classic Hair Bun

Classic buns are always included in the category of "simple" hairstyles because they are easy to do and perfect for any occasion. This is a look that can take you from your morning walk, through work and to an opening at an art gallery later that evening. The classic bun is a simple updo that is considered timeless.

There are tons of different ways you can create a bun, but if you are in a hurry, simply brush your hair smooth with a boar bristle brush. Then gather it at the desired location, twist the hair while also twisting it around its center, and pin it all into place. Add some hair jewelry, sticks or other accessories if desired.

The Barrel Curl

If you are looking for a simple style that can offer a dramatic effect, look no further than the barrel curl. It's clean, chic and you can create the look in five minutes or less if your hair is already straight. If it's not straight, you will need to take a few minutes and smooth it out.

To create this style, secure your hair in a ponytail either at the crown of your head or at the nape of your neck. It is recommended to use a hair scrunchie to add volume. Alternatively, if you have dark hair, you can cut the toes off a black sock, roll it into a thick band, and wrap it around your ponytail. This will help to achieve an extra-full curl. Finish off the look by folding the ponytail in half to create a fan, and then tucking the ends underneath and securing with bobby pins. Add a little shine spray to really turn up the charm and help control the fly-away pieces.

Conclusion

If you're anything like me, you absolutely NEED a few quick and easy hairstyles you can turn to whenever necessary. And now you have a few fabulous options.

Physical Changes During Puberty for Girls

Little girls will eventually grow up into young ladies. In these growing years, a girl will go through puberty wherein one will experience different changes particularly in their physical appearances. Their bodies will have many changes that will be an indication that they are growing up to be young ladies. Girls need not to worry about these changes as these are just normal. All girls will go through these physical changes. In fact, puberty for girls is one of the most anticipated moments in a little girl's life.

Puberty for girls will take several years to finish. During this period, girls will go through physical and even emotional changes that are completely uncontrollable. This is because the hormones and chemicals are then produced in the body that causes the changes. The most noticeable change in a girl's body during puberty is that their breasts grow. This happens usually when the girl reaches the age of 8 - 13. During this time, the girl will then need to wear brassier.

Also, hair will start to grow in different parts of the body. The body will start to gain its shape as the hips get wide and the waist will slim down. The legs and stomach will also start to grow larger. This simply means that the little girl is changing into a lady. Aside from these physical changes, the girl will also start to notice more acne growing on their face as well as back and chest. Pimples, blackheads and whiteheads will just be normal problems of a growing girl. In cases that these skin problems have become severe, one can simply visit or consult a dermatologist.

During these times, a girl will have to use different sets of panty. This means that they have to say goodbye to those baby panties that they are using. They need to buy a size larger than their usual size since their hips will be growing soon. This is also the time when menstruation will follow. With this, they need to know how to properly deal with this condition. Some would feel pains related to the condition. One would even suffer from dysmenorrhea. One should be guided on the right things to do during their period.

At puberty, a girl will then learn how to make use of sanitary napkins and possibly how to get rid of period stains. These are just a few of the things that a girl will learn about during puberty. Parents particularly the mothers should be able to guide their girls so that they can go through puberty easily and hassle free. It is a stage where girls would feel different emotions that they simply cannot control. With the help and guidance of parents, girls will never have to fear of going through puberty.

There is also information available in books or websites which can help girls go through puberty easily. These will teach them on how to deal with the stage that they are going through. Puberty for girls is an exciting and challenging stage to go through. If they have the proper guidance, it will just be an easy part of life.

Do You Really Want an Abortion?

Do you want an abortion... Sounds pretty easy doesn't it? Yea, just go and get an abortion. There's no attachment, right? Look, I know everyone has been given free choice by God, but when contemplating an abortion take some time to think about it, and if it's right for you.

I want to tell you a little story about myself and a Shrine that I would frequent. I got used to going there and was told that Mary and Jesus walked the grounds. Yes, I kid you not. That's the story going around. But, anyways, to get to my story. I got to go there and befriend the caretakers at the Shrine. I got to hear about and see some of the miracles that would happen there. This particular Shrine was set up so that unwed mothers could go there for refuge, and help so that they wouldn't have to have an abortion if they didn't want to.

So, after visiting many times, I wanted to be constantly reminded of the Shrine and the wonderful works that they did there so I made a little trip up north on the highway and stopped in at a well-known trade center. I did happen to see cases full of dolls that when picked up felt like a real baby (it was heavy like a real baby), and I mean it even looked like a little infant child. I picked this particular doll out because it reminded me of my son. Blonde hair and what a beautiful little doll, and again it looked like and felt real. So, I told the lady that was selling the doll that if it was still there I would purchase it when I had a little more money. She said fine, but there's only 2 left and there were around 2,000 starting out. (they were limited dolls). So, anyway, I said okay, and I went back with my son in about 4 weeks. At first when we returned to the trade center, I was afraid to go and see if the doll was still there, because I really wanted it, I had a burning desire to get it (didn't know why at the time though). But, the doll was there and I purchased it. When I picked out the doll it had a white outfit on it, and I didn't realize at first that its name was "Angel Love" and it had a little white bible with it too. I believe the doll was made by a doll maker called Lee Middleton, but don't quote me on who made the doll because it's been many years ago. But, that is what I remember.

So, I brought the doll home and kept it in the box. I wanted to put it on my bed so I could look at it and be reminded of the Shrine, but I was afraid of getting it dirty because the house where we lived had a lot of dust outside from the cars driving by. And, I felt that this doll was "special" but I didn't know at that time how much. I didn't want to get it dirty or messed up so I kept it in that box. One beautiful day outside, I decided to visit the Shrine, and at the door was the caretaker. She opened the door and I had asked her does the Shrine ever take any kinds of presents, or donations? If someone wanted to donate something? And, she said why, yes, and I said well I'll be back in about 20 or 30 minutes or so because I have a doll I want you to see. So, I rushed home and back with my little "Angel Love" in the box. I took the doll out of the box and handed it to her and she said to me this doll will save many babies' lives. Then, I took the doll back and kissed it goodbye. You see, I really loved that doll. It was special. Then she just happened to have a basket to put the doll in. And, Angel Love had a new home at the front of the Shrine where all could see.

Now, I hadn't been to the Shrine for a long time and made a trip there when they were having a special gathering. There was my little "Angel Love", and yes, I still do pick up the doll and give it a kiss. I just can't help myself. But, on this particular day the caretaker came up to me and she said to me you know that little doll that you got? And, I said yes, She said to me well there was a young girl here that was going to have an abortion and she picked "Angel Love" up and the doll's head fell on her shoulder and right then and there she decided that she couldn't have an abortion. Yes, "Angel Love" saved a little baby's life, and I don't know how many after that. You see when you are having a little baby you can't see, hear, touch, or feel the baby because it's inside of you, but once the baby is born that's a different story. You see that little baby is a part of you. That's right and the most important part of that baby is that a little baby is a "Gift" from God to us. Now, for those of you who have already had an abortion that might have been the right choice for you at the time to make as we all are given free choice by God, but if you are presently thinking about having an abortion think twice and then some. Again, it's your choice to make, but chose wisely.

I also wanted to add that sometime after that, I had driven past an abortion clinic and I had this overwhelmingly feeling of just wanting to go over there and pick up all those little ones that were gone from this earth and take them home with me. All I could think of was that this was the holy spirit showing me just how precious these little ones are.

So, again think twice, and I hope that you make the right decision for yourself, and your little "Angel Love".

Veiled Women

Throughout history, the veil has been one thing that is common among woman of all major faiths. I'll also touch on the many purposes that veils are used for as well as some historical references across multiple religions. By following along here, you'll see the commonality of veil use by all major religions as well as some historical perspective.

Depending upon the culture, woman's veils serve different purposes. However, the common denominator in their use is that they are primarily for modesty. In many cultures, veils are tied strongly to tradition.

Veils are seen in all major religions. In Christianity, almost all depictions of the Virgin Mary show her veiled. The Old Testament refers to the use of veils. The Apostle Paul's call to universal principles is often interpreted to encourage their use as well. Veils are seen in wide use in churches at funerals and most Christian weddings. Up until the 1960s, veils were commonly seen during regular church service and you'll still see them in the more traditional churches today. Veil use is seen extensively among various orders of nuns thus the term "to take the veil" is used when a woman becomes a nun. Veil use among nuns varies depending upon the traditions of any given order. Amongst many Anabaptist denominations such as the Amish, Mennonites and Hutterites, the female head cover is seen in almost constant use.

In Judaism, we see the use of embroidered curtains used extensively. This material is used as a cover or veil for the Ark of the Law which contains the scrolls of the Torah.

In Hinduism a head covering is also often seen on woman. While not common in all parts of India, you will see them widely worn in northern India.

Women in Islam also commonly wear a head covering. A common one is the Hijab, sometimes referred to as a veil. In fact the word Hijab means the principle of dressing modestly. So the word can refer to the head covering or just the modesty principle of dress in general. Islam recommends that woman wear non-form fitting clothes such as long shirts or skirts if choosing western wear or the more traditional forms of modesty such as the Hijab.

Now that you've seen how a veil in many forms is used in all major religions, you may see it in a whole new light. We see that it is common among women all over the world and is primarily a style of dress that represents modesty.

What You Didn't Know About Lace

It's hard to believe but an innocuous doilie, now much derided by the fashion police would have been on a par with something like cocaine today but far more expensive. Much sought after and using any means to obtain it no matter how illegal. So smuggling was rife, resorting to putting lace in coffins alongside the corpses, even dismembering them to make more room for the lace. Aristo's weren't beyond a bit of muff-stuffing either - no changes there then.

There are many theories regarding the origins of lace. There is mention of it in the Bible. And early examples found in Egyptian tombs. Lace as we know it probably originated from Flanders or Venice and was an indicator of extreme wealth on a par with gold jewellery. In England it was unheard of until the reign of Elizabeth 1 due to a ban on the imports of Flemish lace. It was certainly a highly desirable item and people often went to extraordinary lengths to obtain it.

A 9" ruff could take an experienced lace maker a year to make, working 10 hour days. So it was prohibitively expensive. And amongst the upper class ladies it was considered a highly-prized virtue if they made their own lace: very Jane Austen.

To combat countries like Belgium and Italy who produced magnificent lace, the English government actively encouraged home production, hence Honiton lace as well as many in the East Midlands. Queen Victoria chose Honiton lace for her wedding dress and trousseau which helped considerably in making it very fashionable. Crochet, the word is French and means hook. No-one knows the true origins of this art possibly China, Arabia or South America but it was introduced into this country in the 1800's and was considered the poor man's version of more intricate lace. Though Queen Victoria taking up the practice herself alleviated that image to an extent possibly to take her mind off Alberts death or possibly her Ghilly.

Broderie anglais a French word meaning English embroidery, also known as cutwork, was introduced into this country in the 19th century. It's a series of eyelets overcast like a buttonhole using a satin stitch. But has been around for much longer, possibly originating from Czecho-slovakian peasant embroidery around the 9th century.

Battenburg lace is a fairly sturdy construction, much favoured for tablecloths and wedding dresses. It uses woven tapes and elaborate stitching together to form some of the lovely designs. And possibly dates back to the 16th century. But given official recognition after Queen Victoria's son-in-law the Duke of Battenburg, when every Duke had his own lace pattern.

France also had a huge tradition of lace making. And was a favoured pastime amongst the ladies of the aristocracy. But after the French revolution lace was perceived as synonymous with conspicuous consumption and the guillotine. And the fashion for lace died almost overnight.

Highly prized expertise was garnered from Italy and Belgium, the Italian government often using highly dubious methods to stop this drain of lace-making skills. And if an Italian lace maker didn't return to their home country their nearest and dearest would be incarcerated. Work would be found for them - as an inducement - if they did go back, but if they didn't their relative would be executed.

In what may now seem laughable, only people of a certain status were allowed to wear lace at all, and even then only of a certain width. If this width was transgressed inspectors - placed at city gates - would cut them down to size. Quite literally. With a pair of scissors. And may well have been the source of the term 'cut down to size'.

Life Purpose Secrets

The akashic records are a vast storehouse of information. They hold every experience, every decision, every relationship and every empowering and dis-empowering belief every human being holds in their unconscious mind. All that information can determine whether a person lives their life purpose or not. Women in particular are coming out of the closet with their business skills, their creativity and their power. Gone are the days when women stayed quietly at home being practically invisible. The energy on the planet is now shifting, it is shifting into the feminine energy and women are shifting with it.

By asking that all important question 'What is my life purpose?' is a catalyst for change. It brings excitement, gets creative juices flowing and opens doors of opportunity and possibility. Divine gifts are discovered from the akashic records, soul group is revealed and any blocks to success are revealed and can be released with the help of guides and skillful coaching from practitioners.

More and more women are yearning for freedom, in particular, financial freedom. This yearning can set off some great actions and decisions yet there may be something that seems invisible yet has the power to hold them back. That invisible block can be beliefs that are carried over from a past life. It may be some karma that no longer serves the woman's life purpose in this lifetime. This karma can be released on a spiritual level with some active work on the physical level. This work is usually releasing beliefs from the unconscious mind as and when they show up. They can show up in many ways but one indication is self sabotage. Many women find themselves not doing what they know would be a benefit or move them towards a goal. They might find themselves doing the complete opposite yet don't know why.

Unconscious beliefs run like a computer programme quietly in the background outwith the conscious awareness so the self sabotaging behaviours can cause confusion and a sense of failure. For some women it somehow proves that they 'just can't do it' and they give up early on in their pursuit of living the life they yearn for.

Self sabotaging behaviours women experience

  • Over eating
  • Eating the wrong foods
  • Zoning out from emotions
  • Attempts at suppressing emotions any way they can
  • Not doing what they know needs to be done
  • Doing exactly the opposite of what would benefit them
  • Believing the negative people in their lives
  • Self medicating to block out emotional pain
  • Over spending

All the above are indicators that unconscious blocks are present and locking the living their life purpose. The akashic records are a wonderful tool which a skilled practitioner uses to identify what is really going on below the surface. Soul gifts and divine purpose is available to everyone and a life of joy can be lived.

How to Create a Hair Twist Updo for Short Hair

Hairstyles that feature hair twists are some of the most elegant and stunning you'll find. In fact, in my humble opinion these hairstyles are essentially the ultimate in elegance! And the best part is that this simple yet stylish updo can be created in a matter of minutes.

A hair twist is an updo that looks spectacular on pretty much anyone. It does not matter what color hair, skin tone or face shape you have, when you twist hair, your look goes from ordinary to extraordinary. Many people assume that you have to be going somewhere formal to wear one of these updos, but that is certainly not true. Plenty of women are wearing twists to the office, while shopping, or even just lounging around the house. Since they don't create a permanent crease like a ponytail does, they are perfect for daywear. And as an added bonus you'll get soft waves from the twist that will last for the evening.

When It All Began

Just as the beehive was inspired by Marie Antoinette and Madame de Pompadour influenced the pomp, this twisting style has a dated history of its own. Hair twists were first acknowledged and documented in France in 1380. Yes, that was a long time ago, and hair twists are still exceptionally popular today. Celebrities all over the world have been spotted on the red carpet lately boasting a twist hair style. But of course, it was Audrey Hepburn who made this look famous.

Don't Have Long Hair?

Interestingly, many women assume that you must have hair that's shoulder length or longer to wear a hair twist, but you don't. Twists are the perfect option for those with hair that's a bit shorter as well. You may not get every last strand into the twist, but that's what pins and hairspray are for!

To create this look with shorter hair, begin by backcombing the sides and crown for a bit of volume. Next, smooth the sides and top (without flattening) by using a paddle brush, working your hair toward the direction of the nape of your neck. Draw what hair you do have into a pony and twist it. Don't worry about strands that don't make it into the twist; you can deal with those after. Twist the remaining hair toward the sky, tuck the ends in and twist until it's tight. Pin where desired.

A tail-comb can be used to poke the hair that doesn't reach the twist into place. Finish it off with hairspray. Sometimes it is easier to simply let some of the shorter hairs fall naturally rather than fight to put them in place. Twist hair styles don't always have to be neat; the messy look is just as popular. You can even use a pomade, gloss or light gel to add a bit of texture.

Don't be afraid to glam up your hair twist, even if you are just heading to the grocery store. It only takes a few seconds to add a decorative hair pin, clip or barrette that will make you feel even more sensational than you already look. Besides, people will think you must have just come from an exciting event to have such great hair!

Conclusion

As I previously mentioned, hair twist updos are some of the most stunning hairstyles available. And the good news is that - contrary to popular belief - you can create this style even with short hair. So no matter how long your hair happens to be, you can still incorporate hair twists into your hairstyle.

Man of Your Dreams

I have recurring dreams that I am in an awesome relationship with the man of my dreams, we are walking on the beach together, enjoying the romantic sunset, having an awesome dinner together, or just cuddling up with each other on a rainy afternoon, only to wake up to find I am still single and searching for that "dream" guy.

Love is like learning to play an instrument, first we take lessons to learn how to play the instrument, then we practice, practice, practice, but in the end we must play from our heart in order to touch another persons soul.

Love is one of the best feelings in life. You should complete each others lives and want to be better for each other. As long as you know how to keep each other happy you will be in for a long and lasting relationship for life. Expressing your love and respect for each other makes the bond between the two of you so much stronger. I saw this love and respect from my parents who were married for 60 years and would still be married if my Dad had not died a few years ago. My parents were such models and I always wanted to have a loving relationship like they did. I never heard them say a harsh word to each other. They always shared a kiss goodbye and a hello kiss.

I have been in and out of relationships all my life, was married once, only to find out I chose the wrong type of guy for me. He was outgoing and he never met anyone he didn't know. Although, I felt he was my knight in shining armor, I didn't peel off the armor to find what was really down deep inside him. He had a lot of demons hidden deep inside. I feel my lack of experience and being very young attributed to not finding out more about him before we got married. You know that old hind sight will bite you in the behind every time.

Do you feel you attract the wrong kind of men. What are you looking for in a man? Attributes I am looking for in a man: sense of humor, fun loving, caring, loving, thoughtful, passionate, sweet, romantic, has a close and caring relationship with his mother, does not make any less money than I make, family oriented, able to fix things around the house, self motivator, likes to travel, likes to dance, enjoys wine, enjoys walks on the ocean, enjoys watching sunsets, going out to nice dinners, likes staying at home and cuddling in front of the fireplace watching movies, is not jealous, accepts me for who I am, enjoys being around my family. I have also discovered that I must be the same type of person that I want to attract into my life, so I must also make some changes to be a quality person so I attract a quality person. I have a big fear of being alone the rest of my life, and want a companion to grow old with.

Make More Hormones And Increase Your Breast Size

Since certain hormones play a vital part in the size and shape of your bust, it stands to reason that gaining more of them in your body, will help you increase breast size. Estrogen is the most important hormone when it comes to breast size and shape and volume, but there are others that also play a key role. Here though, we will focus on estrogen.

Natural estrogen levels in the body are a major component in producing new breast tissue, growth and retaining the fullness and shape.

Estrogen levels are at their peak when we are in our late twenties, early thirties. As we get older, they fall off. As time goes on, we produce less and less of it. Plus of course, estrogen levels variegate from woman to woman. This should not be a big concern though, as there is a lot we can do in order to promote more of our own natural hormones. This is the entirely safe way of increasing estrogen levels and is a good deal better than taking synthetic estrogen. Actually, taking this man-made hormone should solely be done under doctor supervision as it can cause unpleasant side effects when used over long periods.

Synthetic hormone pills are entirely different to natural herbal breast supplements that facilitate our body to make more of its own estrogen. The herbal supplements are normally totally safe, providing you stick to the manufacturers guidelines. There are some times when they may not be safe, for example throughout pregnancy, but for the most part they are a safe way to help step-up estrogen levels in your body.

Herbal remedies are one way, but you can do more to elevate your levels by eating certain foods that assist natural estrogen production. You will notice that some of these items are already in the ingredients lists of most natural breast supplements, but not all. List of some significant estrogen increasing foods.

Kernels and seeds:

Flaxseed, sesame seeds, pomegranate pips, fennel seeds.

Grains:

Whole brown rice, whole grain pasta, Wheat bran, Rolled oats.

There is a long list of vegetables, but here are a few effective ones:

Sweet potatoe, lima beans, corn, peas, spinach, carrots.

Fruit:

Tomatoes, apples, bananas, lemons, kiwi, peaches.

Beans and peas:

Black eyed peas, split lentils, soybeans and all things made with soy, soy beansprouts, split peas.

Condiments, herbs and spices:

Parsley, cloves, brewers yeast, alfalfa, aniseed, fenugreek, ginger.

All these breast size increasing foods are easy to find and whilst there are a great deal more foods in this class, this list gives you the primary ones. You in all likelihood eat many of them right now on a steady basis, so it's just a case of adding a few more and making sure that each day, you consume two or three foods that will give you extra estrogen in your body.

Is exercise any good? This might sound strange, but over-exercising actually lowers your estrogen levels. All the same, normal exercise is fine and in fact as part of your regimen to get bigger breasts, you want to do some exercise. A couple of reasons for this. Primarily, taking regular exercise, for example yoga, can step-up the amounts of other important hormones. These other hormones likewise play a part in breast growth. Second, if you develop your chest muscles through particular exercises, this will make your bust appear larger and firmer as they will be pushed upwards and outward. So consequently don't concern yourself over carrying on with your normal regular exercise routine. The only types of work out that may reduce your estrogen, is really strenuous exercise, such as long distance running, long distance swimming, doing a lot of free weight lifting etc. Yoga is one of the best exercises for this purpose. Endeavor to add yoga to your day to day routine because it helps to elevate the levels of all the significant female hormones.

Drink peppermint tea. Two cups a day will give your estrogen an extra supercharge. The recommended amount is two cups every day, but you can consume more.

Hopefully this has provided you with you some ideas on how to increase breast size by boosting your own natural body hormone levels.

Summer Wardrobe Inspiration With Bristol Fashion Week!

It's that time of year again, the British 'summer' has arrived; but with it being the season of campouts, beaches, festivals and temperamental weather - what do you wear? I headed to Bristol Fashion Week to find out.

The event took place at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway with hundreds of shoppers, bloggers and journalists alike in attendance, welcomed to a champagne reception before taking their seats to watch the show. Presented by celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton and style-guru Mark Hayes, the show saw twelve different themed looks paraded down the catwalk, styled by highstreet stores such as River Island, Next, New Look and Republic. Inspired by the likes of Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney it was great to see what the highstreet had to offer; here are my favourite looks from the show and where to find the key pieces.

The show opened with a sickly sweet candy-themed opening, with an array of lilacs, spearmints and other pastel tones - which are proving to be a key trend in this summer, and were seen at the likes of Louis Vuitton and Mulberry. Models paraded in pink shift dresses and skirts, with the men wearing chinos and jackets of similar sorbet shades - which can all be found on the highstreet. New Look and Miss Selfridge in particular have a range of shirts, skirts and dresses in lemon, baby blue and pink and for accessories, Topshop has some great shoes and bags.

With the Olympic games coming the London and the Queen's diamond jubilee, the show then became very patriotic with a new take on the festival look - presented with a palette of red white and blue. The look also incorporated the traditional British seaside, with sandals and deckchair-print shorts for both men and women - courtesy of Topman and Topshop (completing the look with shades, straw trilbies and an ice cream!)

The most popular look on the high street right now, however, is print. In winter we saw an assortment of fairisle printed jumpers and some tribal print emerging, but this season it is all about aztec. New Look, Topshop and Urban Outfitters are all pushing this trend - tops, dresses, skirts, bags and even jewellery... this print is everywhere. River Island in particular have some great pieces - even with printed shirts for men - which can be dressed down for college or perfect for a night out.

Grandma's Mantra, Make Do And Mend!

In the lean times we are experiencing at the moment, people revert to keeping their clothes and mending them which used to be the norm in many households until the middle of the twentieth century.

Not only does mending and making your own clothes save a lot of money but the task lends itself to opportunities. Learning to mend clothes, is virtually half way to sewing clothes. And as all skills are learnable this could lead to a new hobby. Who knows even to developing an interest in designing clothes and starting a business.

Making your own clothes can be so rewarding. You choose the material you want, then you have a choice in what pattern you wish to have. You can choose from very easy patterns to follow to more difficult ones but it is recommended to start off with the easy option. With a little skill you can alter the pattern to suit your unique personal style and body shape. Sewing your own clothes will ensure that your garment is unique, and will not be seen on anyone else. The options are unlimited.

During the eighties, shops that sold fabrics where still quite easy to find. With the arrival of cheap clothes, however, it was easier to buy those and discard them after a season. Now, in this continued recession, even the cheaper clothes are kept for more than just one season and there is a resurgence in Fabric Shops and many beautiful fabrics are on offer.

Of course, it is not only clothes that can be sewn but many things for the home. Once the skill has been acquired, it is easy to sew cushions, bedcovers, curtains, aprons, oven gloves and many other items like gift bags, dolls, the list is endless.

If you check in the search engines, you will see that there is no limit in offers from cheap sewing machines to patterns to reasonably priced material, everything that is needed to start making your own clothes or furnishings.

There are online courses on how to design your own clothes as well as all the crafts mentioned above which is fantastic and could be a great resource for the budding designer.

For a mother of small children, sewing is a godsend as children's clothes are often more expensive than adult ones and this niche really offers such creativity. Here the opportunities again are varied. The clothes can be sold to a network of mothers who come to the playgroup or pick up their children at the school gate.

The Significance Of A Good Bridal Makeup Artist

On your wedding day for most women, a good makeup artist should be number one on their list. Really good artist of makeup will set the mood for the event as being one of the first people the guest sees, and a really really good artist has the skill to transform there clients. The brides makeup artist has to understand the wants of the bride while taking advice from others, like the brides maid of honor and mother. More often than not the bride likes one look and the mom likes another. They have to stand their ground and fulfill the wants of the bride. Sometimes the maids of honor will want their makeup done as well, but the makeup artist must remember the bride is the one getting married not the maids of honor.

A makeup artist should provide a certain look for the bridal party. Pictures are important as memories of that special day. They will be with you forever, so you want to make sure you look good in them. There are many great makeup lines out there, but a lot of them use oils that will reflect light which can ruin or distort many pictures. Makeup, like Bare escentuals, are not heavy because they are a powder. They are so natural on your skin you can sleep in it, but they are not good for weddings. Bare escentuals use a reflective mineral in their makeup.

Photographers should hook up with the makeup artist because it makes the job easier. A good artist can do the job in 40 min what it will take a photographer two hours to do in Photoshop. If the bridal party plans on looking good in the pictures, they also have a good makeup job or else, they won't be looking good in the pictures.

Always check references and do research to get the best work for your money. Any one can pick up a brush and claim to be a artist, many will charge loads of money for there work. Look for a wedding portfolio on their website or by any other means. Ask where they learned to do makeup. Just because they can do it on themselves doesn't mean they can do it for you You have to make sure they are an artist. A makeup artist is someone who is going to enhance your beauty. A person with a passion for makeup and beauty is the perfect bridal makeup artist.

Style Tips on How to Choose an Asymmetrical Skirt

With the warm days already here, most of us long to show some skin and to this end ladies dresses and skirts have no rivals. The new spring/summer 2012 season has brought a myriad of amazing dress and skirt trends and one of them is the asymmetrical 'fever'. Shops are flooded with a myriad of asymmetrical dresses and skirts, coming in various shapes and shades, still some of us feel a little bit shy to try this trend.

Actually asymmetrical skirts can look amazing, if you buy the one that perfectly flatters your body shape and creates a classic, sophisticated look. Whether you like refined, elegant designs or flirty asymmetrical skirts with ruffles and other cute details, there is a wide selection of styles available, ideal for any occasion. Keep in mind that choosing the best skirt for you means finding the best design for your unique style and body shape. To make your life easier, here are a few useful fashion tips on how to choose the best asymmetrical skirt for your body shape:

1. Asymmetrical skirts are so hot now that both high end designer labels and cheaper fashion brands offer a myriad of stunning designs. So first look around in stores and online to see which skirts you can really afford to buy.

2. Study your body shape and pick the style that turns you into a real goddess. Thus, skinny girls are advised to go for ruffled skirts, while plump girls should choose a skirt with the shorter hem reaching the mid part of their legs.

3. Decide on the color and style of the skirt. Asymmetrical skirts come in a variety of shades, feature multiple eye-catching prints and designs. Make sure to pick the one, which you really like a lot.

4. Pay attention to the fabrics. Thus if you want to buy a skirt to wear more often, choose a skirt featuring easy-to-care-for, machine washable fabric. On the other hand, if you want to wear your skirt on some special occasion, choose a more delicate fabric.

5. Make sure you have chosen the right size. Look into the mirror and study your skirt at different angles. If you think you look great, that skirt is definitely yours.

As you can see, it's not something difficult to find the best asymmetrical skirt for you. Just consider all the precious five rules mentioned above and find your perfect matches. And remember, whatever you are wearing, you'll hardly look great in it until you feel self-confident and content with your appearance.

Those Dirty Males

Often women say that all men have dirty minds, and whereas, to some degree that maybe true for the most part - what about the rest of them? If we put men and women together we see that generally speaking men do seem to be dirtier, as in real dirt, grime, and bacterial counts than women. At least this is the common perception in our society, but it is so you wonder? Okay so, let's talk about this shall we?

It just turns out that someone actually did a study on this, yes, probably research funded with your tax-dollar basically proving something we already know? There was an interesting article in the New York Times recently on June 1, 2012 titled; "Single-Cell Office Mates, by the Tens of Millions," by Sindyan N. Bhanoo which stated;

"Men's offices have more bacteria than women's offices. Offices in NY houses had more bacteria than those in San Francisco. The study tested five surfaces; chairs, desktops, phones, computer mice and keyboards. The bacteria count in men's offices was 10 to 20 percent greater than in women's."

Now then, as you can imagine when I first read that article, I thought it was a bunch of men haters who hated men, or New York men haters that put that together that article since it was in the New York Times. However, when I did further review for this article I found out that there were actually men and women on that research team who came up with the findings.

Then I figured that the research team must have been from San Francisco because they noted that people in San Francisco were cleaner with less bacterial count than those in New York. Then I wondered if the stereotype was true that homosexual men keep their surroundings cleaner than heterosexual men, as that is the whole gay and even metrosexual motif. Regardless of how you review this research, the facts speak for themselves and those stereotypes only slightly.

Is there an evolutionary reason for this? Do women make better homemakers because they had to, otherwise their offspring would die from disease, whereas men were out gallivanting, hunting down water buffalo, running from sabertooth tigers, and often getting wounded in the process. Evolutionarily speaking that would make sense, however, we are a long ways off from those ancient times living in our modern era and society.

Still, I doubt if any of us are surprised by these findings and if we were to have guessed, we would have assumed that men are dirtier than women, and thus have more bacteria in and around them. In fact, I question this study, not because I'd disagree with the findings, because the percentage is low. It would seem to me that men are at least 80% dirtier in their environment than women. However, in the city maybe things are slightly different. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

How to Make Time Your Friend Not Your Enemy

As working moms, wives, and so much more our biggest challenge is managing time. We constantly fear that we do not have enough time in the day to get it all done. Some may say this is an unrealistic fear when compared to others, however, working from 9 - 5 commuting to and from work for 30 minutes to an hour already puts us at a disadvantage with time. Most of us will get home anywhere between 6-7 pm which leaves us with maybe 3 hours for our family, and self and usually me time is spent sleeping. But what if time really wasn't the problem, or even the way we manage it? As I have learned everything starts with your mindset so what if the way we view our time was really the issue instead of lack of time.

You often here time is money, but do you watch your time like you watch your money? I would bet it's a no. But unlike money when we spend time we cannot get it back. We cannot work hard to make up the difference. So we should actually manage our time way better than we manage our money. If you were only given $24 for today how would you spend it? You knew a portion of it was already allocated to different aspects of your life, such as tithes, bills, and so on, and at the end of it all you really only had $5 to do whatever you want with. How would you spend that $5? Getting an additional $24 tomorrow was not guaranteed and you couldn't save any money for tomorrow. What would be the best use of this $5?

This is exactly how we should think of our time. We are only given 24 hours and a portion of it is already gone. We know this so why do we fret and dwell over the time already spent. We spend a significant portion of our day at work and may an hour or two going to work and coming home. So why do we even get upset about that? It's what we do. We should now really focus on the time left over and how we can best use that time to satisfy all that we need. Will you spend an hour of the time watching a reality show or doing puzzles with your kids? Will you spend that time fussing or drinking a nice glass of wine with your spouse? How about spending an hour in the bath or out with the girls (that will be more than an hour, hehehehe).

I want to challenge you to stop thinking about all the time we spend doing the things we will do anyway, and start thinking about the time you do have figure out how you can make that time work for you. Although tomorrow is not promised we don't have to do it all in one day. Prepare for tomorrow but spend your time wisely today.

Cost Effective Tubal Ligation Reversal

In these tough economic times there are many people having to cut back on expenses. And, the same holds true for those who are looking to have a child after tubal ligation. When this happens, most couples are told to look into IVF. Although IVF helps many couples become parents, it is very expensive. Just one round of IVF can cost $10,000-$15,000. Unfortunately, the first round of treatment does not work for many of the couples who have invested so much time and money. Having to take out of work for the treatment visits also adds stress.

Is there a less expensive way for a couple to have a baby of their own naturally? There is, and it is known as tubal ligation reversal surgery. This is where a woman who has had a tubal ligation will undergo surgery and have her damaged fallopian tubes repaired by an expert reversal surgeon. The surgery costs about $7,000 and surgery time is about an hour.

Although tubal reversal surgery costs can vary greatly there are ways to have the surgery performed safely and without being overpriced. The first factor is the location where the surgery is to take place. Many in the medical field are still under the assumption that the surgery must be performed in a hospital. This is not true. Thousands of surgeries are performed in outpatient facilities. The leading tubal reversal center is able to keep the price low. Not having the surgery performed in the hospital eliminates the extra costs affiliated with the different hospital personnel and departments. By having everything handled at the one center keeps things affordable for those who do not have extra thousands of dollars to just spend.

Another important factor when research cost effective tubal reversal surgery is the experience of the surgeon and staff. Because something costs less does not in any way mean that the medical care should not be top-notch. This is surgery and there can be complications with any surgery no matter how large or small the procedure. This is your health and safety and should be regarded as extremely important. Any questions you have should be asked to the surgeon and staff and all questions should be thoroughly answered.

Taking the time and finding the right reversal center is the best way do about things. The more knowledge a couple has the easier their decision will be to make. By asking questions and reading the couple will know when they have found the right tubal reversal surgeon and staff to help them with their journey. Tubal reversal surgery has helped thousands of couples become parents again after tubal ligation.

Workwear for Women: What Does It Stand for?

Wondering again what to wear to the office? Does workwear for women have to be costly, bland or (even worse!) unappealing? How to work out your collection of clothes to combine looks, practicality and corporate spirit. Do clothes make the man - or the woman?

Having a "what-work-clothes-to-pick" headache yet?

Business wear is, in fact, much more than that famous "first impression" - it's a lasting impression that follows you, like the scent of a carefully chosen perfume. Don't think that, like the said perfume, it has to be so absolutely unique to you, though. Work clothes for women are designed to hold back your exuding femininity - you may like it or you may hate it, but this is how it is.

If you like dressing in a conservative style, then you're playing on your turf, congratulations to you! If, on the other hand, your personal dress code is more casual, artistic or progressive, choosing work clothes (blouses, shirts, suits) might seem like a somewhat more taxing process - and this is exactly where feminine imagination and versatility rule! Just think of it: it is not about restricting yourself, it's about re-inventing yourself in a different role, within a different environment and set of requirements.

So, what mindset would be more company-oriented when browsing through the various ranges of work clothes for women?

Consider what you are to the different persons that approach you during the day - what they need from you and what they expect of you:

• Your boss or superiors expect swift understanding, dedication to work, high performance, responsibility. Even if they know where you live or your kid's first name, you still are "human resource", a human tool to get the job done, to help the company keep working smoothly and effectively.
• Your co-workers expect collaboration, respect, non-antagonism. There's no use trying to differentiate yourself with your attire, as this will only attract negative comments - most usually behind your back.
• Customers expect reliability and skills in properly serving them. Looking cute and trendy will be held against you, if you happen to make the slightest mistake; on the other hand, they may find it easier to overlook an omission made by an otherwise very professional-looking person.
• Antagonists seek for a vulnerable spot to slip through, but you must clearly stand as an extension of and a watchdog for the company you're working for.

Always juggling seems to be a woman's fate. Within the above setting, workwear can be your ally, your shield and your weapon.

Wearing a grave-looking white or striped shirt under your monochrome work cardigan does not erase your natural flare and humour - it lets them emerge unexpectedly and, therefore, more sharply. A neutral or pastel work blouse soothes the eye and helps you create a relaxed atmosphere around you... until you strike with your unprecedented skills.

More than being a woman, you are a working woman, and you want to be noticed and remembered as such. Wearing the appropriate work clothes for your line of business will help you take the focus off your attire, put it on your professional persona and make it shine, pure and without the need for unnecessary enwrapments.

Solving the Stay-At-Home Blues

A new Gallup poll reports:

"Stay-at-Home Moms Report More Depression, Sadness, Anger...The degree of difficulty of being a stay-at-home parent is evident in a new Gallup analysis of more than 60,000 U.S. women interviewed in 2012."

Looks like the 'problem with no name' as coined by Betty Freidan is back, however, under very different conditions. Things have changed. Betty's women were near-forced to stay home due to societal pressure and unequal access to the workplace. Neither of those conditions exist anymore. There has been a complete reversal on the former with a new pressure to have a career, and such significant strides on the latter than today's women in the workforce call themselves 'post-feminists' and claim complete victory in work-force equality.

The choice is there. A corner office and corporate expense account is waiting for women. Or is it?

The reality is that, for many thousands of women, the choice is not there. Low to middle income mothers are stuck in the day-care catch-22 - the cost of childcare wiping out almost all of their salary. Being a one-income family in today's two-income world requires serious sacrifice and thus increased struggle. Gallup's poll backs this up stating:

"... low-income stay-at-home moms are struggling the most. Many in this group are likely staying home out of economic necessity rather than by choice, and they likely feel pressure from tight finances and the demands of motherhood. "

This, however, doesn't answer up why women who can afford to stay-at-home are also more depressed than their working counterparts. Is the old myth that full time mommies are miserable really true?

The answer currently is yes, but not for the reasons you might think.

Laundry, washing dishes, running carpool - none of these activities are inherently depressing however there are two new conditions that exist today that make full-time mommy hood a struggle even for the most privileged.

Firstly, its simply not cool to be a stay-at-home mom. Society expects you to have a career and your value to the world is measured on your pay check. While it is true that a full-time mommy in 2012 would bring home a salary of $112,000 annually (MarketWatch) if they were compensated for their work, this is ignored, dismissed and considered irrelevant in the eyes of peers and government policy.

Secondly, its lonely to be a stay-at-home mom. Today, only 5 million of the around 61 million mothers of working age are stay-at-home (8%). Compare that to the 1960′s when 80% of mother's stayed at home. The busy suburban life-style of the stay-at-home mom has been replaced with deserted streets, empty stores and playgrounds filled with nannies.

Same 'problem with no name' but different causes.

In 2012, society has made motherhood a lonely and undervalued profession... of course mommies are miserable - why are you surprised.

The answer lies in women recognizing that attempting to live up to and, therefore, validating the frankly ridiculous societal expectations placed up us will continue to hold women back and make us miserable, whether in our corner office or our kitchen.

Famous Jewelry Designers - How Did They Get Their Start?

How jewelry designers got started in their career seems to be a very interesting subject to a lot of people. Did they hit the ground running and become an overnight success? Were they "discovered" on a beach stringing shells by some wealthy investor who financially nurtured them into the sophisticated artist they became? Or did they slog it out for 20 years and gradually grow into fame and fortune?

There's just something compelling and so attractive about jewelry designers. I don't think a lot of other peoples' occupations stir up the same kind of interest and excitement. "Oooo, you're an insurance lawyer! Wow, how exciting! What made you want to practice insurance law?" Nope. It just doesn't happen.

How have some of the most famous, or popular, jewelry designers got their start? David Yurman, for one, was not an overnight success. He and his wife never expected the company to be the worldwide phenomena that it is today. They just wanted to make enough money to pay the bills!

At 16, he was already exhibiting talent, producing little angel sculptures that he was selling at his high school. He studied for a year at NYU, left for California to hang out for a year in an artist's commune, came back east to Greenwich Village and started studying with such famous sculptors as Jaques Lipshitz and Theodore Rozack. He was apprenticing as a sculptor with Hans Van de Bovenkamp when he met his future wife, Sybil Kleinrock.

Like so many other designers' stories, things started to happen when Sybil started wearing David's pieces. An art gallery owner wanted to purchase one of David's creations that Sybil was wearing at an art opening in 1970, and that, along with other important sales, prompted them in the early 1970's to open Putnam Art Works in the country.

During that decade, they spent their time doing art fairs, developing their craft, exhibited their artwork and jewelry, and learned the marketplace for fine jewelry. In 1980, the company David Yurman was born, and by the mid-80's had already established a national reputation and was showcased in Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, Bloomingdales and other high-end retailers. He rocketed to super-stardom when he created the Yurman signature cable bracelet, an oxidized twisted sterling cuff accented with gold, precious and semi-precious gems.

I've studied the early careers of many famous jewelry designers, and they are all so different! Some have studied extensively, others are self-taught. Some had the advantage of capital backing from investors, others slowly built a reputation and following, one piece of jewelry at a time.

But almost all jewelry artists had one thing in common: persistence! It took David Yurman 15 to 20 years to achieve the beginnings of the success his company now possesses internationally. David and his wife trudged through the entire decade of the 1970's doing art shows, slowly building his clientele and reputation as he developed and improved upon his technique and style.

David and Sybil may not have understood or formulated their goals early on, but I'd be willing to bet my firstborn child that as time on went their goals became razor sharp. There is one thing I can guarantee, however, being a jewelry designer myself. They LOVED what they did, and do. Nobody spends that much time on a path unless they are passionate and single-minded about it. Nothing gets in the way. Failure will not deter them. Hardship and despair are obstacles to overcome. A person doesn't just work as a jewelry designer; a person IS a jewelry designer. It's more than love; it is who we are.

I'm sure David Yurman and is asked incessantly how he became a jewelry designer. I'm asked that question frequently. Sometimes I give the flippant simple answer. "I made a necklace, and I sold it. Voila! AndreaGems was born." And it's true, in the most surface of ways.

But in reality I was at a crossroads in my life. As a successful real estate agent in downtown Chicago for 20 years, I was living the good life. But I was so tired of what I was doing, and I'd been tired for a long time. I felt like the life was being slowly sucked out of me. I couldn't imagine doing this for much longer, let alone for the rest of my life. But my husband and I was a two-income couple. Our lifestyle (and mortgage) was based on two high incomes. I was a prisoner of my job.

I come from a family of artists. I knew that I could no longer turn my back on my creative side. But how could I make money and be creative at the same time? This was a very difficult period. A caterpillar crawling out of his cocoon turns into a butterfly. What was this caterpillar going to turn into?

So what did I do to help me think through that period? I cleaned my house! I cleaned out closets, the garage, drawers, and in one drawer there were a bunch of necklaces that I hadn't worn in years. I got a little angry because they weren't cheap and I didn't especially like them.

I got a brilliant idea! I'd remake them into something I'd wear! What a concept! I decided to take a 2 hour stringing class, and I was shocked to see what beautiful things I created from those ugly necklaces.

That weekend, I went on a business trip to Miami with my husband, and wore one. One of his clients tried to buy the necklace off of my neck. I said no. He kept upping the price. It got ridiculous. I didn't sell it because I thought he was an idiot.

The next evening we went out to dinner, I wore another necklace. Another client of my husbands' wanted to buy that necklace off my neck for his girlfriend. He was a sweetie pie, so I sold it to him.

By the end of next week, I had sold all of the remade jewelry, and I thought that something fundamentally important had happened. It was as if the skies had parted and God had pointed his finger at me and said, "You have found your calling. Now go be fruitful and multiply... your jewelry".

And that's what I did. I jumped into jewelry design feet first, real estate be damned. I knew nothing about the business, but that didn't matter to me. I had discovered my calling.

It's now 7 years later. And that's another story...

The Best Hair Styles For Fine - Haired Women

Some of the most popular styles designed for success are the bobs. There are several varieties of the bob and all of them look great.

  • The Low Stacked Bob can be worn short, medium, or long. It is called a Low Stack when the top layer falls no more than two inches above the bottom perimeter of the hair. It is blended from the top layer to the bottom layer.

  • The High Stacked Bob is worn on those who want shorter hair styles. It is called a High Stack when the top layer of hair falls three to four inches above the bottom perimeter of the hair. The hair is blended from the top layer to the bottom layer.

  • The One Length Bob hair style is glamorous but can make coarse hair look like a pyramid and too thick on the bottom. The One Length Bob can fall anywhere from the neckline to the top of the shoulders. The perimeter should be parallel with the floor if the hair is too thin on the sides. If the hair is not too thin on the sides, then it may be angled up to any point from the jaw line to the chin.

Very short hair designs such as the pixie should be texturized a little and point cut with the scissors.

A length worn below the shoulders should be cut blunt on the perimeter with the scissors. Never layer the hair on the bottom of the design line. Layering will make it look too thin on the ends.

An under cut is another one of the most flattering styles. It makes the top layer of hair flip under and look thick on the bottom perimeter. An under cut is a style in which the hair on the bottom at the neck is a tiny bit shorter than the next layer of hair. Each consecutive layer thereafter is cut a little longer than the preceding layer.

Body perms will do wonders to give a lot of volume. Having a perm will not only make it look fuller but will make it easier to style and manage.

Rolling will create more volume. No matter if the style is short or long, it will look fuller and thicker when rolled.

Use products that are formulated especially for the type of hair. This includes shampoo, conditioners, styling aids, and hair spray. Products created especially for the individual will make the style look better and last longer.

Avoid styling aids with oils or silicone. They will make some styles look thin.

How to Make Planning Your Wedding Less Stressful

As any bride could tell you, planning a wedding is no easy feat. In the period of time before your selected date you have the burden of choosing your dress, venue, flowers, cake, food, entertainment, bridesmaid dresses, and many more things that will determine the success of your wedding as an event. Before you have an anxiety attack, here are a few tips to make planning your wedding a little easier.

Expect a Few Hiccups

There is a saying that says that no one is perfect, well, the same thing can be said for events. To try and predict every possible curveball in your special night is impossible, and will take you away from enjoying your wedding. The best thing you can do is focus on the things that you can control, and leave the rest to fate and your wedding planner. You have the rest of your life to stress, on days that don't cost upwards of $10,000. Enjoy and appreciate your wedding for what it is, don't hate it for what it wasn't. Sit back, have a glass of wine with your new partner, and let the night unfold in front of you.

Shop Around Before Signing on the Dotted Line

Any women that could be described as a bargain hunter should hang on to this precious gift when it comes to planning her wedding. If you are working with a wedding planner, a little common sense can go a long way with saving you money. As redundant as this may sound, the wedding planner most likely does a lot of weddings, and therefore has most likely developed some sort of relationship with the very people you need to hire. While most wedding planners are on the up and up, some may refer you only to the individuals they know while there could be a better deal elsewhere. It is up to you to smell out any sticky situations, and to shop around. You could end up saving yourself a pretty penny in the long run, but make sure not to belittle your wedding planner. Perhaps ask her to get you a list of pricing from different businesses offering the service you are looking for, that way the planner can still be involved without pushing you towards a business for personal reasons. Chances are your wedding planner will respect and admire the fact that you want to be involved in the planning of your wedding.

Know What Your Planner Can Handle

A wedding planner should make the brides big day significantly easier to plan and enjoy, because they are experienced with planning weddings. They should have the crisis avoiding skills of an FBI negotiator, along with a very long fuse. They should be able to calmly handle the hiccups along the planning road while making the bride more comfortable about their planning skills. You should know exactly how much of your wedding you have paid the planner to take care of, and expect nothing less than what they promised. Your planner should be experienced, and ready for anything. For example, a bride was having her wedding at a conservative chapel so she could not show her shoulders during the service. The bride was devastated because she had chosen and already purchased a strapless dress. The bride's wedding planner had faced this before, and was prepared with the solution: a bridal capelet! This is a perfect example of how the planners experience helped the bride avoid wearing a frumpy jacket or cardigan, and the lace capelet actually enhanced features on her lace accented dress.

By using common sense and keeping calm when you otherwise would not be, you can make the time up until your wedding a lot less stressful. Your wedding planner should be used to a little bit of a cranky bride, but remember to maintain respect for your planner and the people around you. The last thing you want is to earn the badge of a "bridezilla," so use your manners. A little "please" or "thank you" never hurt anyone.
