Effective Skin Care in Winter

Winters signify celebrations, events and long beautiful evening walks. Watching the snow fall with a warm coffee cup adds up to the flavors of winter. However nothing in the world is without its odds and similar is the case with cold weather. As soon as the winter arrives, the skin loses its glow and becomes quite fade. Cool dry breeze also causes a severe skin problem namely eczema in which the skin becomes inflamed with a worse feeling of itchiness all over the skin.

Skin damage is a very sensitive issue particularly for females. Proactively dealing with the skin issues can save you from the intricate skin problems. The cosmetic companies offer an assortment of skin care and skin repair products with varying ingredients. There are also many home remedies for protecting your skin from the winter odds.

Here are some useful tips that work well against all the commonly observed skin issues:

1. Improving humidity levels:

During winter lack of humidity is the main problem in the centrally heated homes. The lack of humidity can cause your skin to become cracked and damaged. Installation of a proper humidifier from a reliable vendor can resolve this issue. You can also use homemade humidifiers like placing a boiling water pan, spraying curtains or drying the wet clothes in the living room. Maintaining a good humidity level your home is always good for skin care.

2. Drinking adequate water:

In winter, water intake is reduced greatly as compared to the summer season. This is due to the fact that the feeling of thirst reduces to a great extent. However water plays a major role in skin repair and acts as an excellent skin moisturizer. Therefore, one must not ignore the importance of water as a very successful and cost effective solution for skin problems.

3. Using skin moisturizers: Natural skin care moisturizers have an overwhelming ability to give a new life to your skin. Effective moisturizers possess the ability to remove the dead cells on your skin and remove dryness efficiently. Every skin care moisturizer has different application techniques which are clearly mentioned on the product. You can also apply almond or coconut oil as a substitute of any expensive skin moisturizing lotion after taking showers.

4. Using Sunscreens:

Some people think that sunscreen use is only restricted to summers; however, you must use effective sun block in winters for skin care as well as skin repair. Normally a sunscreen of SPF 15 is recommended for people having an oily skin. Consulting with your family dermatologist can assist you greatly in making a sunscreen purchase decision.

5. Taking a nutritious diet:

Along with the external application of various skin care creams, it is also essential to take nutritious food. It must be combination of juicy fruits as well as healthy foodstuff offering plenty of vitamin A and D. Eating plenty of green salads in raw form can prove to be an excellent source of fresh healthy skin.

6. Avoiding lengthy showers:

Hot water has diverse effects on skin and it can cause severe damage to the hair as well as skin. Therefore, it is very important that you avoid taking long showers. Using lukewarm water instead of very hot water can save the natural oils of your skin. Skin care in a winter is not a difficult task; all it requires are some small tips to make your skin in a natural condition.

7. Using Lip Balms:

Lips are subject to a lot of dryness and cracks in the winter season. Some people are in the habit of licking the dry lips which tends to worsen the situation. Always remember to purchase a good quality lip balm to make your lips in a healthier state.

8. Using Vaseline to Sooth Heels:

Vaseline is astounding for inflamed heals during winter. Simply apply large quantities of Vaseline before wearing your socks. Also use shoes with thick soles to ease your feet during the harsh weather.

9. Minimizing Hair Dryers usage:

If your hair are already thin, weak and dry it is better to avoid the usage of Hair dryers. Switch to the cool drying option if you have to attend any occasion urgently and could not manage your wet hair.

Romance Cheats - When Falling in Love Is a Crime

Past a certain age, finding love is fraught with difficulty for both sexes but particularly for single women. Let's be honest. On a night out with a group of friends none of us look over at a woman sitting on her own and think 'Aw, there's a lovely lady trying to make a social life for herself,' do we? We're more likely to think 'Oh gawd, look at that. Musn't stare. Has she been stood up or is she a hooker?'

No wonder then, that internet dating has become such a popular way to meet people. We can commune with the opposite sex in the safety and comfort of our own homes, still with a nice glass of wine and bag of nuts, but in our pyjamas and fleecy socks and it doesn't matter if our roots are needing done. We can sift through rows of pictures and profiles, read witty comments and wile away our lonely Sundays sending messages to attractive men with usernames like 'Hotrod' or 'Handyman' with hope in our hearts that this might be the man who's going to change our life.

Unsettlingly then, a recent study published by the University of Leicester and led by Professor Monica Whitty, and Dr Tom Buchanan of the University of Westminster, reveals that Romance Scams are becoming increasingly common. The scammers, both male and female, set up profiles with fabricated details about themselves. The more professional amongst them even using fake photos.

A Romance Scam is where a person is duped into thinking the person who contacts them, professing love and a future together, is genuine. The scammer then asks for money. In the past, we have tended to think that being tricked out of our money only happens to men who deserve it, because frankly, any over 55 year old with his own home and good pension who thinks a nubile 25 year old is interested in him because of his scintillating personality and toned body deserves all his deluded self gets. But more and more women are finding themselves targeted too. And it turns out we are just as vulnerable when affairs of the heart are concerned.

The study reveals that over 200,000 people in the UK, far more people than previously estimated, are falling victim to on-line Romance Scams. This confirms the belief held by law enforcement agencies that this type of crime is often not reported because of embarrassment at having been duped or through a continued hope that a real romance will develop eventually.

Professor Whitty said: "It is our view that the trauma caused by this scam is worse than any other because people are not only losing large sums of money to these criminals but there is the psychological impact of the loss of what was thought to be a genuine romantic relationship. It may well be that the shame and upset experienced by the victims deters them from reporting the crime."

Action Fraud, the national fraud reporting and advice centre run by the National Fraud Authority, identified 592 victims of this crime in 2010-2011. Over 203 of these victims lost over £5,000.

The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) take on-line romance scams very seriously and report they have seen financial losses experienced by victims of between £50,000 and £240,000. They say that scammers often operate from outside the UK, using on-line dating sites and social networking sites to make contact and build up 'relationships.'

Colin Woodstock, SOCA's Senior Manager for fraud Prevention said: "Perpetuators spend long periods of time grooming their victims, working out their vulnerabilities and when the time is right they ask for money."

The stories spun by the scammers are varied but usually involve them losing their wallet or being mugged and stranded with no money or suddenly falling onto hard times through no fault of their own, or they might say they need money for a relative for an operation. A favourite scenario is to pretend they are on holiday with their child and the child has been hit by a car (or has had some other accident). The child is in hospital and now needs a life-saving operation. They will be able to pay you back once they get the insurance money. The scammers play on the compassion and caring nature of the women they target. Caring women are also usually very trusting and don't like to question the truth of what their paramour tells them. In their mind 'He wouldn't lie just to get money out of me.' Unfortunately, he would.

Internet dating can work however, and it is definitely becoming a route many singles venture to try. But if you are new to internet dating perhaps best to get to know some rules first. For some sensible advice on how to keep yourself safe and how to spot a scammer visit the website of the e-book, A Little Bit Hilarious - Internet Dating For Beginners which is a fun read about internet dating.

The author, Kay McKay, said "I think this crime is particularly cruel. These men will target the nicest women exactly because they are decent and come across as caring and kind. My advice would be to please, please say 'no' if anyone you meet on these sites asks you for money, no matter what the circumstances. You will soon see their true colours. Internet dating can work - you just need to learn to develop a healthy wariness to spot the bad boys."

If you feel you may have been taken in and are the victim of Romance Scam fraud you can contact Action Fraud on 0203 356 1034.

Why Are Male Company Executives Paid On Average Higher Than Female Execs?

Indeed, I would say that the glass ceiling has been completely broken when it comes to female executives in corporate America. The president of IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and so many other Fortune 100 companies are women. These women executives do an extremely good job, and in many cases they outperform their male counterparts. So, no longer is there a glass ceiling. Nevertheless, there seems to be a little bit of political debate between all this, and now folks are saying although women do get these higher jobs, they don't tend to make as much money as the male executives do. Yes, let's talk about this shall we?

Well, it turns out that men are much more upfront and somewhat overly assertive and even aggressive in negotiating pay, benefits, and stock options - much more than women seem to be (again on average) during the hiring process. In other words the companies may actually be offering the women executive applicants the same amount of money, but that offer is where the negotiations start, and often women during that hiring process will not attempt to negotiate like men do.

This could very well be learned psychological personality that happens in our society, and the stigma that if a woman is too aggressive, she might be called the "B-word" thus, in true diplomatic style she will hold short to secure the job. This is also a wise tactic, and it also shows behavioral and emotional restraint, which will also perhaps lead to her success if and when she does get hired in running the company. Male executives that are too aggressive tend to burn too many bridges, fail to build the proper relationships, and their aggressive stance often causes their downfall in the subsequent future.

What I'm saying is this; it may be that some of the reason, and certainly not the only reason that male company executives are paid more on average than female execs could have something to do with this reality. There actually are research studies published in academic psychology journals which suggest this might indeed be one of the problems. In that case it isn't the companies' fault, or that the glass ceiling isn't entirely broken, rather it might have something to do with the way that women executives handle themselves in negotiation during the hiring process.

In any case, I believe the gap between the amount that men are paid and women are paid will he eventually cease to exist, and we will see more female executives in the largest companies, and might I suggest that they might easily outperform their male counterparts merely because they have more emotional control, and are much better at building relationships in business. Something that's very much needed in today's modern corporations. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Stop Sacrificing Everything for Your Children

So, it seems that a great many parents have this obsession with sacrificing their lives for their children and especially women. Too many parents abandon their own dreams, forsaking all of their own desires in an attempt to ensure that their children have a "better" life then they've had. But, I say that if your children want a better life, however they define better, that really, it is up to them to achieve it!

One of the biggest causes of stress and worry is the focusing on past and future. Our society has done a masterful job in convincing its adult citizens that the future generation's success or failure is dependent entirely on the sacrifices that they (the adults) make or do not make for their children. In other words, the adults of today are in a constant state of panic, stress and worry about how their children are going to fare in the future.

Your children are born with the same intelligence that you are. For millennia, children have been finding their way into adulthood, yes, some by way of "serious" trials and tribulations, but most find their way with minimal fanfare. Of course, they are entering new territory and as a result may feel apprehensive. However, it is the facing of this apprehension not the running from it that leads to real growth, real maturity.

Now, I am by no means saying to not assist your children. What I am saying is that at a certain age (often 18 in the USA), a child ought to have established or been assisted in establishing a solid foundation on which to build their future.

Eighteen is a good age, because metaphysically speaking, the number eighteen is the number nine (1+8). The number 9 is known as the number that represents perfection and totally. This does not mean that your child is a perfected being at age eighteen. However, it does mean that your child has reached a state of maturity (in mind, body and spirit) where their tools have been honed enough that they can begin building the life that they desire to live.

We retard our children's growth when we, for example, deny them the opportunity to make decisions as they are growing. And, the longer we do this the less prepared they will feel and the longer it will take for them to mature; so that, many children find themselves well into their twenties and thirties and some even longer still not ready or willing to graduate into self responsibility.

If we as parents were wise, we would have been nudging our baby birds from the tree all along the way of their growth. Doing so would have allowed them to develop strong wings.

Have you not yourself seen that children desire independence? That while they may not be totally self-reliant, they are self-willed, that they want very much to do things on their own, to walk alone, to dress themselves, to give you a piece of their mind when you invade their space or violate their intelligence? Are not these the signs of a being that can and will in time fulfill their own desires? You need give up all that you desire for them. Trust that the universe or God instilled in them the same gifts of intelligence and potential that you have been instilled in you.

It may be that you want your children to exceed you and you may consciously or unconsciously believe that all that you have done without will somehow be transferred to your children, that the universe will say, OK parent, everything that you give up (the house of your dreams, the automobile of your dreams, the relationship of your dreams, the finances of your dreams, etc), I will give to your child. But it is not so. Each of us is responsible for creating and fulfilling our own life's blueprint, you yours and your children, theirs.

And, I will tell you something else, of the utmost importance, something that you may find astounding and that something is that children are not victims of birth. So often, I hear people saying that children do not ask to come here. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have said this in other articles and it bears repeating, we are not physical beings. We are spiritual being having physical experiences. There is a spiritual or unseen realm. Everything exists in this realm before it manifest in the physical and human beings are no different. In short, this means that your children chose to leave the spirit realm, to enter into this physical realm with a full understanding of who their parents will be and how their lives will unfold.

So I said all of this to say:

You should not have to sacrifice your authentic self for your children. Just because they are alive does not mean that you are to become dead. Your life is not canceled out with their birth. And contrary to what you might believe, children do not want their parents to be sacrificial lambs. They look to you for the sign that they can be and have all that they desire. But if you sacrifice your entire life, even to them, then they will likely adopt your attitude, leading to a cycle of tragedy that leaves in its wake a heap of wasted potential.

And besides, how fantastic would it be if you and your children were fulfilling your dreams together! Now, that's a happy relationship!

Nine reasons not to sacrifice everything for your children:

1. You have needs and desires.
2. Happiness starts inward first then extends outward. You can't give externally what you do not possess internally.
3. You were born for a purpose other than to be at someone's beck and call.
4. If you do everything for your children, they'll never mature.
5. If your children don't mature, they're liable to get into serious trouble.
6. Your children are not victims of birth. They volunteered to come here.
7. Your children will one day leave you.
8. If your children are everything to you, then what will you do when they leave?
9. Your children did not ask you nor do they want you to give up on your own dreams.

Thank you for reading.

Christian Louboutin Shoes, Are They Right for Me?

The man behind the designs!

Christian Louboutin the brand, is basically a house-hold name. Although Louboutin's shoes are made for both women and men, the vast majority of sales and production are for women. This product line has come an incredibly long way, in a relatively short period of time. Why? In order to answer this question proficiently we must look at the history of the man behind the designs. Louboutin was born in France in 1963, and at the age of 12 already knew the direction of his life's work. I believe most of us would agree, at this tender age, we probably had many different career path ideas and endless childhood indecision. At age sixteen, young Christian was already working in his desired field. He was hired as an apprentice, sketching designs for women's shoes. During those early years, he viewed himself as a rebel, partially due to his skin tone, as he was "much darker" than the rest of his family (he has three siblings). He concedes to feeling as though he'd been adopted. Clearly, his original designs would support the notion of unconventionality. The list of design-houses he worked for, are a who's who, in the world of high-end women's leather products. As a contractual designer, Louboutin had relationships with YSL, Charles Jourdan, and Roger Vivier to name a few. In his teens he traveled extensively, to learn more about the world's cultures. He has altered the manner in which many shoe manufacturers market their products today.

Louboutin is changing the way many of these design houses are marketing their merchandise going forward. For years he has minimized the quantity of production associated with some of the trendy styles, and even some of the classic designs, creating a higher demand. This maneuver also supports an environment of exclusivity for his designs. This is the primary reason why the styles sell-out so rapidly. He will later revisit the design, and regain a market for them. It is not only smart, but works like a charm!!

During the ensuing years, Louboutin had disassociated himself from the women's shoe industry and pursued a career in landscape gardening. This was a short-lived hiatus from his passion, and by 1991 he opened his first shoe store in Paris. It didn't take long before complimentary remarks from European dignitaries propelled his business to the top of the latter in the fashion world. In 2008 Christian Louboutin secured the "red bottom" trademark in the USA. The brand sky-rocketed almost immediately, as word of his history of crafting shoes for British royalty went viral. Eventually American "media royalty", helped turn Louboutin gold into platinum, following an early 2008 "Oprah" show appearance. After countless industry accolades and celebrity endorsements worldwide, extraordinary success loomed evident.

Louboutin's approach to exclusivity not only impacts the styles but includes sizing and also his price points. The phrase toe-cleavage has become synonymous with many styles in his powerful arsenal of pumps. Creating this effect meant lowering the "vamp" (that part of the upper which covers the toes to the lower ankle) exposing the divisions between the toes. Subsequently, the design eliminates women with bunions (swelling of the first joint of big toe) or those with wide metatarsal bones (referred to as ball of the foot) from finding comfort with these designs. Moreover those with naturally chubby toes, attempting to wear these styles, may appear as though the shoe is to narrow and squeezing the foot together. This is not a stylish look. Women with narrow to medium size feet will enhance the toe-cleavage effect and have that sexy appearance. Most of the high-heeled platform peep-toe pumps follow this rule.

The desire to own these amazingly distinct designs entices some women to over-size the shoe. Within a very short period of time, (sometimes one or two outings) the shoe will stretch at the wrong pressure positions, and will begin to slip at the heel. Occasionally this problem can be addressed by having "halter pads", (self adhesive forms placed just below the metatarsal area of the foot) applied to the shoe reducing the slippage. It doesn't always work yet other options are virtually non-existent. Imagine paying $1500.00, at the medium to lower end of the price points, for a single wearing. To avoid fitting and sizing issues, resulting in pain and loss of capital, don't ever over-size these shoes. Often you'll notice women walking in these shoes with their feet pointed outward in opposite directions. Their shoes are not fitting properly, so they compensate by gripping the inside of the shoe with their toes, and "duck walking" to keep the shoes on their feet. This is not a comfortable method of wearing Louboutin shoes. The medium high-heels with closed rounded toe-boxes, will also have a low vamp, but will deliver more long-term comfort and wearability. Several options such as a "Maryjane" design, with a strap across the instep (upper middle arched area of the foot) may fit more securely and comfortably.

Platforms will level out the heels, in terms of reducing the foot's pitch, but without a true fit your comfort level is diminished. Initially these shoes may fit snug and sometimes a bit cramped. The shoe will definitely stretch, even after the first wearing, adding more comfort. However, if they give you any real pain, don't purchase that shoe. The shoes that are painful from the start, will never provide the comfort we all seek in our footwear. Purchase the size that you normally wear, and if the shoe doesn't fit comfortably, find another style. Louboutin has many styles, shapes and heel sizes. "But that was the style I REALLY wanted"! Well it's not the correct "last" (the last represents the anatomical shape of the foot) for your feet. The last of each style is different from the next, taking several variables into consideration. Be patient and try several styles to determine which shoe has the best last for you.

Louboutin's sling-backs are also very beautiful and sexy. They are cut similarly to the pumps therefore the same sizing and fitting issues may apply. Try them on to determine if the strap around the back of your heel fits comfortably. His flat shoes and sandals are always elegant. They are fashion forward and a viable option for those unable to wear the high-heels. So take your time and try as many styles as it takes to find the comfort zone you deserve. Yes, Christian Louboutin shoes are for everyone, but identify the shoes that will provide adequate comfort, complimentary appearance, and that fabulous style.

When Tubal Reversal Is Important

Tubal reversal surgery is a surgery that is sort out by women for a number of reasons. Some are to have fertility restored after having tubes tied (tubal ligation), to have a tubal ligation reversed due to religious convictions and for relief of Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome.

The majority of women that seek tubal reversal surgery is so that they are able to have children again. Often, they had their tubes tied believing they were done having children. The change in a relationship can cause a woman to change her mind and regret the fast that she was sterilized. She may have divorced and remarried and now her new spouse has no children of his own. When couples research they realize that tubal reversal surgery has better pregnancy success and is actually less expensive than the alternative treatment of IVF. There are a couples who do not want to undergo IVF because they cannot afford it or due to religious beliefs. There are also couples who are just not comfortable with the idea of in vitro fertilization.

For Relief of Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome

A majority of those in the medical field will say that Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome or PTLS is not real. There have been studies performed concerning PTLS but all have turned out to be inconclusive. The question is, how can so many women be suffering from the same things after tubal ligation and it be just a coincidence? There are a variety of symptoms that seem to be suffered by many. They are but not limited to the following:

* Very heavy periods
* Feelings of despair

* Unexplained rapid heart beat
* Fatigue
* Decrease in breast mass
* Loss of libido

The above symptoms are commonly experienced by those who suffer with Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. Women will go to the physicians and have thousands of dollars in medical tests run to be told they are all within the 'normal' limits.

Women seek reversal of ligation because they have found other women that have had the surgery that have found relief. Over time the amount of women that get relief from reversal surgery is growing in numbers. Although many in the medical realm do not believe that this conditions exists there are many women who will say otherwise. The Art and History of Crochet

Crochet, which is a French word meaning hook, is the process of producing fabric from yarn using a crochet hook.

Crochet is an old home art perfected by the house wives to create the beautiful pieces of hand woven home decorations. It involves arranging interlocking thread loops of yarn in a chain with the help of the crochet hook (a slender rod with a hook at one end and made of metal, plastic or wood). In crocheting, the chain of loops is made by catching the yarn after every loop with the help of the crochet hook and then makes it pass from the previous loop this arranging them in the interwoven single chain of loops. The art lies in making different kinds of stitches through which we can create a plethora of textures and patterns. Some commonly used stitches are chain, double; single, treble, ribbed Afghan, popcorn etc.

Crocheting became popular in Europe during the 19th century, when a publication A Winter's Gift provided detailed instruction for performing crochet stitches (though it did presume that the readers understood the basics of Needlecrafts). The older name for crochet is believed to be tambour though the hooks that did survive from those times cannot be used in modern-day crochet work. It has been understood from old records that some old cords have been conceived by using fingers as the crocheting tools thereby creating the chain of loops. With time the art became popular in Europe with women from all strata used to do crocheting as a favorite past time, thus producing beautiful fabrics.

Crochet lace, produced in the Ireland of the 19th century, was a way of making money for the impoverished workers during the famine of 1845-1849. Irish lace was made in quantity until WW1 and was very popular and sought after.

In the new Edwardian era, especially during the decade between 1910 and 1920, crocheted laces became even more elaborate in texture, with complicated stitching. The new rage was for less strong colors of thread in favor of white or other pale shades, except for the brightly colored and elaborately beaded silk purses. After WW1, the few published crochet patterns were early 20th century patterns that had been simplified. However, after WW2 there was renewed interest in homemade crafts, especially in the United States. Colorful doilies, potholders and other useful home items were introduced in the late 40's to the early 60's. Calling for thicker threads and variegated colors of intense hues, the patterns went through yet another major change and made crochet work a homemaker's art until the late 60's and early 70's. Granny squares, which is one of the most basic designs, were a motif worked in the round using bright and colorful yarns and popular with the new generation.

The variety of yarn as well as the quality had taken great strides of improvement in the 21st century with many yarn stores offering classes in crochet. In more modern times it is now possible to purchase or sell crochet patterns or projects via the internet.
