The other day, I was talking to a young woman in her 30s, and she had just come from the gym and she claimed that she had lost 25 pounds and was on a diet. Excellent and good for her as she is taking the bull by the horns, and perhaps saving me as a taxpayer for her future health care costs or diabetes medicine. I'm glad to see it, and she is looking better than she did before, at least this was her assertion. Then, someone else mentioned; "you look like you've lost weight," and she said that she had. So I have no reason to doubt her.
Her strategy was quite good. She had limited her sweet tooth cravings, changed her diet, and was now exercising every day. She said she knew she was looking better because now men at the gym are looking at her more while she's working out, she said she's not used to people looking at her as much, and she knows something has changed, so she is feeling better about herself. Previously, she would just work out in her own little world and not worry about it.
She also noted that she was tired of all the older bald men looking at her, not because she has anything against bald man, but because it makes her feel old when there are lots of bald men around her. She says they are at her work, at the gym, and the men in her family and life. She knows she can't just all of a sudden change all the men in her life because it doesn't work that way. She said that it was difficult for her to remember, that she was only 30.
Many of the men she had previously dated, and those at work were over 30, and most of them had very little hair left, or extremely receding hairlines. She is now determined that she will not date anyone over 30, and only men with lots of hair. Still she realizes this may be impossible, so she is concentrating on feeling good about herself and looking young, and she realizes the younger she looks, the more looks she will get from in both older and younger, fat and skinny, and bald or hairy men.
Now she is determined to feel young from the inside, rather than allowing her visual memory to suggest that she too is getting old. Indeed, I thought this was funny because being 30 years old, well, that isn't that old at all, she is still very young. And now she knows it, and that's a good thing. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
